KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - One Knoxville SC today announced the hiring of Ian Fuller as the second Head Coach across the club's four-year history. The 45-year-old has spent the past eight seasons as an assistant coach with Minnesota United FC in MLS.

Fuller, a native of Ellensburg, Wash., most recently served as an assistant coach for MNUFC between 2016-24 during its time in both the NASL (2016) and MLS (2017-24). Fuller also served as an assistant coach for Orlando City SC in the USL Championship (2011-14) and MLS (2015-16) as well as the Charleston Battery in the USL Second Division (2010). Fuller served as a player-coach between 2010-13 for both Charleston and Orlando.

As a player, Fuller competed collegiately at Clemson University and began his professional career with the New England Revolution after being selected with the 21st pick in the 2002 MLS SuperDraft by the Revs. The forward made 14 appearances for New England across regular season and postseason play in 2002, helping the Revs advance to their first MLS Cup.

For the remaining 10 years of his professional career, Fuller suited up for several USL teams including Orlando City SC (2011-13), the Charleston Battery (2006-10), the Rochester Rhinos (2003-05) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2005). Notable highlights of Fuller's playing career include helping Orlando win the inaugural USL Championship title and USL Championship Players' Shield in 2011, guiding Orlando to a second USL Championship crown in 2013, and helping Charleston to the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.

"The intensity level is going to be through the roof," said Fuller. "We're gonna excite you, we're gonna play with passion, we're gonna give it everything we've got."

"We couldn't be more excited about Ian joining One Knox," said Knoxville's Managing Partner, Drew McKenna. "His experience as a player and coach at the USL and MLS level will be hugely helpful in continuing to build One Knox into a meaningful club for Knoxville and American soccer. Most importantly, Ian is the type of leader and person we are proud to have lead us into this next exciting phase of One Knox's history. Old City, New Coach, One Knox."

A season after qualifying for the postseason for the first time as a professional team, One Knoxville SC will kick off its fourth season at the newly constructed Covenant Health Park, a 6,355-seat multi-use stadium in East Knoxville near downtown and the Old City.
