TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the 2024 All-League First and Second Teams, recognizing the regular season's top performers. In total, 11 of 12 clubs were recognized across the First or Second Team.
Northern Colorado earned the most representation with four players named to either the First or Second Team, while Charlotte, Madison, Greenville, Knoxville and Richmond also placed multiple players to the First or Second Team. In total, 15 of the 22 players named to the All-League First and Second Teams earned the honor for the first time.
The 2024 USL League One All-League Teams were voted on by each team's technical staff and executives and only account for 2024 USL League One regular season play.
GK - Sean Lewis, One Knoxville SC: The 32-year-old veteran became the third consecutive goalkeeper to claim back-to-back USL League One Golden Gloves, posting a season-best 0.73 goals-against average mark. Racking up an 8-5-5 record in the 18 matches he played, Lewis totaled seven clean sheets, 52 saves and 147 recoveries. The USL veteran conceded multiple goals in a single match only twice all season.
D - Mitch Osmond, Forward Madison FC: Madison's Australian captain helped the 'Mingos rack up nine clean sheets and concede only 18 goals with his 74 recoveries, 73 duels won, 24 aerial duels won, 21 tackles won, 18 interceptions and 14 blocks. The 30-year-old also led all players with 1,328 total passes and 1,228 passes completed.
D - Bruno Rendón, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: Rendón followed up his 2023 All-League Second Team season with a stellar showing in 2024, leading the league with his 169 duels won and leading his Hailstorm to a club-record, top-two finish. The versatile, 24-year-old Cuban also tallied six goals, two assists, 88 recoveries, 75 aerial duels won, 47 completed long passes, 35 clearances, 29 tackles won, 28 fouls won, 26 dribbles completed, 22 chances created, 16 shots on target and 14 interceptions. Per American Soccer Analysis, Rendón was second in the league with a 3.29 goals-added value.
D - Jordan Skelton, One Knoxville SC: The longtime USL League One defender has broken out over the past two seasons in Knoxville, earning All-League First Team honors in back-to-back seasons. The 27-year-old Newcastle, England native helped Knoxville total nine clean sheets and a league-low 16 goals conceded through his 115 clearances, 101 duels won, 81 recoveries, 70 completed long passes, 19 blocks and 89.6% passing accuracy rate.
M - Luis Álvarez, Charlotte Independence: The rising Honduran talent constructed the most productive season of his young career, totaling four goals and two assists a season after helping his Jacks to the 2023 USL League One Final. The 21-year-old also provided 101 recoveries, 95 duels won, 63 completed long passes, 30 tackles won, 22 chances created, 20 dribbles completed, 19 fouls won, 15 shots on target, 11 interceptions and 10 clearances.
M - Devin Boyce, Forward Madison FC: The 2021 USL League One champion and All-League Second Team midfielder earned his first All-League First Team selection through a career-best 2024 campaign in Madison. In his first season with the 'Mingos, Boyce totaled five goals, one assist, 97 duels won, 63 recoveries, 28 fouls won, 27 tackles won, 26 completed crosses, 26 successful long passes, 25 chances created, 13 shots on target, 12 dribbles completed and 10 clearances.
M - Pedro Dolabella, Union Omaha: After totaling 10 goal contributions across 30 regular season matches for the Owls a season ago, Dolabella exploded for 14 goal contributions in 11 fewer matches this season. The 25-year-old Brazilian helped Omaha claim the USL League One Players' Shield for the second consecutive season with his 107 duels won, 82 recoveries, 53 completed long passes, 34 fouls won, 26 clearances, 20 shots on target, 17 interceptions, 16 chances created and 14 dribbles completed.
M - Luis Gil, Spokane Velocity FC: In the 15th season of his decorated professional career, the former United States Men's National Team midfielder produced the most prolific season of his career to help Spokane reach the postseason in its first season of existence. After winning the USL League One Players' Shield with Omaha a season ago, the 30-year-old tallied five goals, five assists, 82 duels won, 64 recoveries, 38 chances created, 28 successful long passes, 25 dribbles completed, 25 completed crosses, 24 fouls won, 14 shots on target, and a league-leading 19 possessions won in the final third.
F - Ethan Hoard, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: Recently starring collegiately at UC Davis and Green Bay before leading RKC Third Coast to the 2023 USL League Two Playoffs in its inaugural season, Hoard earned his first professional contract after impressing as a trialist for the Hailstorm over the offseason. The Racine, Wis. native was prolific across all competitions for Northern Colorado this season, and in regular season play, totaled six goals, two assists, 92 duels won, 33 recoveries, 26 dribbles completed, 25 fouls won, 21 shots on target and 21 chances created. Per American Soccer Analysis, Hoard was third in the league with a 2.99 goals-added value.
F - Lyam MacKinnon, Greenville Triumph SC: Greenville's all-time leading scorer led the league with 16 goals to claim the USL League One Golden Boot and also finished with five assists. MacKinnon also led all players with 21 goal contributions, 35 shots on target, four braces and four penalties won. According to American Soccer Analysis, the 25-year-old led all players with a 3.81 goals-added value this season, tied for the second-most in a single season in league history behind Trevor Amann's (NCO) record of 5.68 set in 2023.
F - Juan Carlos Obregón, Jr., Charlotte Independence: In his first season in Charlotte, Obregón, Jr. scored 15 goals in the regular season to earn his first senior national team cap for Honduras and help the Independence advance to the postseason for the fifth consecutive season. The 27-year-old totaled three braces, 83 duels won, 43 fouls won, 36 recoveries, 34 shots on target, 16 dribbles completed, 14 chances created, 14 completed long passes, 12 clearances, 11 tackles won and a league-leading 117 touches in the opponent's box. Per American Soccer Analysis, Obregón, Jr. led all players with an estimated 8.97 points added.
GK - Lalo Delgado, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: The 2023 USL League One Goalkeeper of the Year finalist extended his strong form in his second season in Windsor, Colo., recording nine clean sheets, 46 saves and 0.82 goals-against average mark. The 26-year-old shot-stopper added 149 recoveries, 120 successful goal kicks, 16 clearances, seven duels won, five fouls won and one chance created.
D - Simon Fitch, Richmond Kickers: The Richmond, Va. Native has continued to produce for his hometown club since inking his first professional contract with the Kickers in 2022. Fitch registered one goal, three assists, 93 duels won, 82 recoveries, 44 completed long passes, 42 clearances, 30 chances created, 26 tackles won, 16 fouls won and 12 dribbles completed.
D - David García, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: A season after claiming the 2023 USL League One title with North Carolina FC in his first professional campaign, García helped the Hailstorm to a club-record finish in its third season. The Spanish defender totaled two goals, two assists, 121 completed long passes, 96 duels won, 86 clearances, 66 recoveries, 25 interceptions, 15 tackles won, 15 blocks, 14 fouls won, eight shots on target, seven chances created and an 85% passing accuracy rate.
D - Nick Spielman, Charlotte Independence: For the second consecutive season, Spielman helped anchor a solid Charlotte backline, as the 28-year-old led the league with 130 clearances, 76 headed clearances and 26 blocks. The second-year Jack added 84 completed long passes, 70 recoveries, 67 duels won, 24 interceptions, 10 chances created and four shots on target, all while completing 89.2% of his passes. Per American Soccer Analysis, Spielman led all players with a 51.49 passing score.
M - Ates Diouf, Lexington SC: Lexington's all-time leading scorer was clinical for the second-year side once again, scoring seven goals and providing four assists after being named to the USL League One All-League First Team a season ago. The Senegalese goalscorer also tallied 67 recoveries, 28 chances created, 18 shots on target, 18 completed long passes, 13 interceptions and a league-leading 51 fouls won.
M - Chapa Herrera, Greenville Triumph SC: After spending the first five seasons of his professional career with his hometown club, El Paso Locomotive FC, Herrera helped Greenville advance to the postseason for a record sixth consecutive season in his first year with the club. The 28-year-old registered 105 recoveries, 101 duels won, 56 completed long passes, 48 fouls won, 25 interceptions, 24 tackles won, 13 chances created, 13 dribbles completed and an 88.6% passing accuracy rate.
M - Evan Lee, Greenville Triumph SC: USL League One's all-time appearances, minutes and wins leader earned the second All-League recognition of his career with a personal-best five goal contributions in the regular season. The 30-year-old totaled three goals, two assists, 84 duels won, 31 completed long passes, 27 clearances, 19 chances created, 12 fouls won, 12 dribbles completed, 11 tackles won, eight shots on target, an 85.4% passing completion rate and a league-leading 120 possessions won.
M - Jimmie Villalobos, Forward Madison FC: In his fourth season in USL League One with his third different team, Villalobos again demonstrated his versatility in the middle of the pitch. The Knoxville loanee helped Madison record a club-record, top-three finish with one goal, one assist, 115 recoveries, 68 duels won, 58 completed long passes, 16 interceptions, 16 tackles won, 15 chances created, 14 fouls won, 11 clearances, five blocks and an 87.7% passing accuracy rate.
F - Pedro Fonseca, South Georgia Tormenta FC: The 27-year-old Brazilian earned the first All-League honor of his young career through his seven goals and one assist for the Ibises in his second season in Statesboro, Ga. Fonseca also added 101 duels won, 79 recoveries, 47 fouls won, 22 completed long passes, 21 shots on target, 18 dribbles completed, 17 chances created, 15 tackles won, 11 interceptions and nine clearances.
F - Alfredo Midence, Central Valley Fuego FC: Through only 15 matches and 1,064 minutes of regular season play, Midence locked up the Golden Playmaker award in his first professional season with a league-leading eight assists. Midence's 133 minutes per assist is the most in a single regular season in league history among players who participated in at least 25% of their team's minutes, and the 22-year-old added two goals, 95 duels won, 43 dribbles completed, 39 chances created, 28 recoveries, 27 fouls won, 25 completed long passes and 11 shots on target.
F - Nil Vinyals, Richmond Kickers: Now among the top four and top six players in USL League One history in matches played and goal contributions, respectively, Vinyals earned his second consecutive All-League recognition following his two-goal, five-assist 2024 campaign with the Kickers. The Spaniard provided 105 duels won, 89 recoveries, 59 completed long passes, 43 fouls won, 37 completed dribbles, 29 successful crosses and 14 shots on target to help Richmond qualify for the postseason for the first time since winning the USL League One Players' Shield in 2022.
