Delgado set records to help Hailstorm to five-win final month

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC goalkeeper Lalo Delgado has been voted USL League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball with his 21 saves, four clean sheets and 0.20 goals-against average mark.

The 26-year-old helped Northern Colorado confirm its first top-two finish with a stellar October consisting of 21 saves, four clean sheets and only one goal conceded through 447 minutes of a perfect 5-0-0 month. Delgado is the first goalkeeper in league history to record 20 or more saves and concede one or fewer goals in a single month, and his four clean sheets are tied for the second-most in a single month in league history. Per American Soccer Analysis, Delgado led all goalkeepers in goals conceded below expected (2.99) and goals added (3.44).

Delgado is the third goalkeeper in USL League One history to be named Player of the Month, joining Lansing's Stefan Cleveland in June 2019 and Greenville's Dallas Jaye in August 2019.

Delgado received 35% of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. Greenville Triumph SC midfielder Lyam MacKinnon finished second on 32.6% with his league-leading four goals, while Charlotte Independence forward Juan Carlos Obregón, Jr. finished third on 31.2% with three goals.
