FRESNO, Calif. - Central Valley Fuego FC announced a pair of additions to its 2024 roster, pending league and federation approval. Fuego FC has signed veteran German lower-division defender Sean Vinberg and rising 16-year-old talent Kevin Garcia on a USL Academy deal.
Born in New York City, Vinberg brings a wealth of international experience and defensive expertise to Fuego FC. Vinberg played collegiately at NCAA Division III school SUNY Oneonta before spending time domestically with amateur sides Greater Binghamton FC and NY Greek American SC.
Vinberg signed with Mongolian Premier League side Khoromkhon FC in 2017 before spending the next seven years of his career with lower-division German clubs Niendorfer TSV, SC Condor Hamburg, Meiendorfer SV, Heider SV, 1. FC Phönix Lübeck and VfR Neumünster.
Kevin Garcia joins Central Valley on a USL Academy contract, marking the fourth USL Academy signing of the 2024 season, further emphasizing the team's commitment to nurturing young talent and building a strong future.
A native of Reedley, Calif., Garcia previously honed his skills at the Barça Residency Academy USA in Arizona. Should Garcia make his Central Valley debut in one of the team's next six matches, he would become the youngest player to appear for the club.
"I feel very blessed and honored to have the opportunity to sign with Fuego FC," Garcia said. "Training alongside professionals in a professional environment is incredible. I'm ready and willing to give it my all to see my Valley win and to make the fans happy. Vamos Fuego!"
Garcia joins previously announced USL Academy talents Javier Mariona, Tag Chalmers and David Kabamba, further solidifying Central Valley's commitment to developing future soccer stars.
