TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that Charlotte Independence forward Juan Carlos Obregón, Jr. has been voted USL League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball after scoring three goals in June.
After spending the majority of his career in the USL Championship and with top-flight Honduran side FC Motagua, Obregón, Jr. has constructed a career-best season, adding three goals in league play to his total of 12 goals across all competitions. The former Honduras youth national team forward added 12 duels won, six recoveries, four dribbles completed, three chances created and a league-leading 10 shots on target. Obregón, Jr.'s 1.09 goals added led all players in June, per American Soccer Analysis.
Obregón, Jr. received 53% of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. Chattanooga Red Wolves SC forward Chevone Marsh finished second on 23% with his four goals and one assist, while Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC midfielder Bruno Rendón finished third on 13% with three goals.
