USL League One Player of the Month Nominees - April

These four showed out in second month of season

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the four nominees for the League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for April, with top performers from the sixth season's second month selected for the ballot.

Voting for the League One Player of the Month award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLLeagueOne.com will comprise 60% of the poll. The fan vote will run through Thursday, May 8 at 12:30 p.m. ET.

  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 40% of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Friday, May 10.

Please note: The League One Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as League One Player of the Year or position players of the year. Additionally, the selection process does not take USL Jägermeister Cup matches into consideration.

USL LEAGUE ONE PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES – April

  • M - Adrian Billhardt, Richmond Kickers: The 2022 USL League One Comeback Player of the Year has provided an instant impact in his return to the league. In his two April appearances for the Kickers, Billhardt scored a goal in each match and totaled 22 duels won, 12 recoveries, a league-best 10 dribbles completed and seven fouls won across 171 minutes of undefeated April action.
  • F - Lyam MacKinnon, Greenville Triumph SC: The only player to reprise their role as a Player of the Month nominee from March, MacKinnon has enjoyed a stellar start to his second professional season. The Swiss striker was tied for a league-leading four goals scored on the month through braces in victories against Northern Colorado and South Georgia. In 225 minutes of play, MacKinnon also contributed to Greenville's 2-1-0 April with 14 duels won, 12 shots, nine recoveries, six shots on target and three chances created. Among outfield players, MacKinnon's 0.82 goals added were the most on the month, according to American Soccer Analysis.
  • F - Ropapa Mensah, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC: Mensah enjoyed a magical April, leading all players with five goal contributions on the month. The Ghanaian forward notched four goals - primarily via his first professional hat trick which came against Central Valley on April 13 - and one assist. In an undefeated 1-0-1 month for the Red Wolves, Mensah also added 25 duels won, nine shots, five recoveries and two dribbles completed. Across 180 minutes, Mensah's 2.23 goals scored above expected were the most on the month, according to American Soccer Analysis.
  • GK - Austin Pack, Charlotte Independence: The 2023 USL League One Goalkeeper of the Year finished second on the month with his 12 saves across two matches and was one of two goalkeepers in April to concede zero goals, maintain a save percentage of 100% and tally two clean sheets. The only goalkeeper to record a penalty kick save in April, Pack's 2.16 goals conceded below expected and 2.49 goals added were more than double the second-best goalkeeper's, according to American Soccer Analysis.
