MADISON, Wis. - Forward Madison FC announced the club's 2024 international friendly will be against CD Tapatío of Liga de Expansión MX on Tuesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET. The friendly continues Madison's commitment to playing an international friendly every season.

In 2023, FMFC hosted fellow Liga de Expansión MX side Atlante FC, falling to Atlante, 2-1. In the past, Madison has also played host to other second-division Mexican sides; playing to a 2-2 draw with Pumas Tabasco in 2022, falling to Club Atlético Morelia, 2-0, in 2021 and defeating Leones Negros UdeG, 2-1, in front of nearly 5,000 people in 2019.

"We are excited to bring another international squad to Madison fans," said Forward Madison COO and Owner Conor Caloia. "It's an honor to welcome Tapatío to historic Breese Stevens Field and give our team extra minutes and competition this season. We know it will be a challenging but enjoyable game for everyone."

CD Tapatío was founded in 1973 and is the official reserve team of Liga MX's CD Guadalajara. The Mexican squad won its first league title in Clausura 2023 and also claimed Liga de Expansión MX's Campeón de Campeones in the 2022-23 season.

El Rebaño Sagrado is currently 4-3-3 and sits in eighth place during Clausura 2024. Tapatío recently competed in the United States against USL Championship side San Antonio FC in the Duelo de Campeones in September 2023, defeating the defending USL Championship winners, 4-1, at Toyota Stadium.
