STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the signing of all-time USL League One regular season appearances leader Conor Doyle to a two-year contract, pending league and federation approval. The 32-year-old center midfielder joins the Tormenta FC squad after an impressive 2023 season with Union Omaha.

In Doyle's 13 years of professional experience, he has played with seven different clubs before joining Tormenta FC, bringing his wealth of experience and skills with him to the Statesboro area.

One of just 16 players to appear in all five seasons of League One's existence, Doyle is the league's all-time appearances leader (126), is tied for the second-most matches started (117) and matches won (55) and is tied for the third-most minutes played (10,582).

"I am extremely grateful to Ian [Cameron] and Tormenta FC for allowing me to continue my professional career. I have always admired the way the team has played and heard nothing but great things about the organization," Doyle said. "I am extremely excited to get down there and get to work with the guys, the staff and the rest of the people at the club. I will give all I can in an attempt to repay them for giving me this opportunity."

Doyle played with Union Omaha from 2021-23 and helped the Owls secure the 2021 USL League One Players' Shield and the 2021 USL League One title. In his time there, he started 63 of 65 matches and scored two goals. During his time with this club, he played a total of 5,431 minutes. Doyle also made a run in the U.S. Open Cup with Omaha during the 2022 season. The midfielder captained the sides to victories over Major League Soccer clubs Chicago Fire FC and Minnesota United FC during the team's cup run.

From 2019-21, the center midfielder signed on with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC for two seasons. With the club, he started 38 out of 40 of the games he played. During these seasons he scored two goals and racked up a total of 3,433 minutes played.

He previously played with the NASL's Jacksonville Armada FC for the 2018-19 season, where he started two of two games played and gathered a total of 179 minutes played.

In the 2017-18 season he played with Puerto Rico FC in the NASL. Out of the 28 matches he played, he was a starting player for 25 of them. He scored five goals in his time with Puerto Rico FC.

Doyle spent his 2016-2017 season with the Colorado Rapids in MLS. He played three matches with this club and accumulated 23 minutes. During that season, Doyle also made 12 appearances for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship on loan from the Rapids.

Doyle began his time in the United States when he moved to D.C. United in MLS from 2013 to 2016. In his three seasons with the club, he racked up a total of 56 matches played, starting in 19 of them. Over these 56 games, Doyle accumulated 2,254 minutes of playing time. The center midfielder scored four goals in his time there and one assist. In the 2013 season, he helped D.C. United claim the 2013 U.S. Open Cup.

From 2010 to 2013, Doyle earned the opportunity to play for Derby County FC in the EFL Championship, jumpstarting his professional soccer career and catching the eye of other professional teams.

On the international level, Doyle spent time with both the United States and Ireland youth national teams.

"Conor is a player our staff has wanted to work with for a while," South Georgia Head Coach Ian Cameron said. "Midfielders who know where their next pass is and who see the field are really important, and Conor does that as well as anyone in USL League One. He understands the demands on both sides of the ball, having been part of one of the most physically dominant midfields over the past three seasons."

"Add to that his set-piece deliveries and the complete picture of the player is very good. So once we knew Conor had an interest in joining our club we moved. We're excited to welcome him and Danielle to our community and for our fans to get to witness his calming influence on the field."
