LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington SC today announced the signing of 25-year-old midfielder David Loera, pending league and federation approval.

Hailing from Mexico City, Mexico — but being an American national — the attacking midfielder started his youth career with former USL club and current Major League Soccer side Orlando City SC.

He began his senior career at Orlando City B before playing collegiately at North Carolina State University. During his collegiate career he began playing amateur soccer, joining SIMA Águilas and North Carolina FC U-23 in USL League Two.

Following his time in college, Loera returned to Orlando on a multi-year MLS Homegrown Contract. Loera made four appearances with the Lions' first team across MLS regular season and Leagues Cup play.

In 2021, Loera was loaned to USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC before signing a permanent deal with fellow Championship side San Antonio FC in 2022. Loera claimed the 2022 USL Championship Players' Shield and the 2022 USL Championship title with SAFC.

At the international level, Loera has represented the United States as a member of the U-15 and U-19 men's youth national teams, appearing in eight total matches.
