GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville Triumph SC today announced the signing of Danish defender Oliver Hald, pending league and federation approval.

Hald - a native of Copenhagen, Denmark - began his youth career with Danish lower-division clubs BK Frem and BK Fremad Amager. In April 2019, Hald made his professional debut with Fremad A in the second-tier Danish 1st Division, subbing on for one minute in a 4-2 victory against Nykøbing FC. The defender made one additional appearance for Fremad A in a First Round Oddset Pokalen match against BK Skjold in 2019.

In 2020, Hald moved to the United States and played collegiately at Muskegon Community College in Michigan. In 2021, Hald transferred to the University of Evansville before concluding his collegiate career at Southern Methodist University in 2023. At SMU, Hald helped the Mustangs to the 2023 American Athletic Conference men's soccer regular season title and the Third Round of the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament.

In 2023, Hald joined USL League Two side Texas United and helped the club win the Mid South Division and advance to the Conference Semifinals of the 2023 USL League Two Playoffs.

"Oliver is one of the best passers in the college game," Greenville Head Coach Rich Wright said. "He'll have a great opportunity here to showcase his qualities and the excitement he brings to the game."
