LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington SC has announced another new addition to its 2024 USL League One roster pending league and federation approval on Friday. 25-year-old forward Azaad Liadi is set to join the club after most recently playing for Huntsville City FC in MLS NEXT Pro.

The Detroit, Mich., native started his career with Vardar Soccer Club in Michigan before beginning his collegiate career at Saginaw Valley State University.

During his career with SVSU, he scored 11 goals in 56 appearances before transferring to Georgia Southern University for his senior year. Liadi scored three goals in 16 appearances with the Eagles.

During his collegiate career, Liadi also played for then-NPSL outfit AFC Ann Arbor in Michigan and USL League Two's Cincinnati Dutch Lions. He scored five goals in 28 appearances combined for both squads.

Liadi turned professional in 2020 and joined FC Tucson, then of USL League One. He scored three goals and tallied five assists across 15 appearances in Tucson before moving to fellow League One side, South Georgia Tormenta FC.

In Statesboro, Liadi scored seven goals and recorded eight assists in 27 appearances before moving to the USL Championship's Loudoun United FC in 2022.

Liadi made 24 appearances for Loudoun in the USL Championship. The winger made two appearances for Loudoun's then-parent club, D.C. United, in 2022 - one on an emergency loan in an MLS regular season match against Charlotte and one in the Fourth Round of the U.S. Open Cup against the New York Red Bulls.

Liadi most recently competed for Huntsville City FC - Nashville SC's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate - during the 2023 season. For HCFC, Liadi scored the first goal in club history in a regular season match against Crown Legacy FC in March 2023 and departs Huntsville as the club's all-time leading scorer with his 12 goals in 2023.

"When I spoke to Darren [Powell], Sam [Stockley] and the rest of the staff, it was clear our ambitions aligned," Liadi said. "I can't wait to get down to Lexington and meet all the guys and the fans. Exciting times are coming for Lexington SC, and I'm excited and grateful to be a part of it!"

"We are looking forward to developing Azaad as one of the top attacking threats for LSC and in League One," Lexington Head Coach Darren Powell said. "We are pleased he is joining us this season."
