LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington SC announced on Wednesday the addition of 32-year-old defender and Cuba international Jorge Corrales, pending league and federation approval.

The Pinar del Rio, Cuba native began his professional career in the top-flight Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol de Cuba with his hometown club FC Pinar del Río. From 2009 to 2015 with Cuban sides Pinar del Río and FC Sancti Spíritus, Carrales made nearly 100 appearances and was named Pinar del Río's MVP in three consecutive seasons.

After obtaining a U.S. visa in 2015, Carrales joined amateur side Fortuna SC in Miami before returning to the professional ranks with NASL side Miami FC in 2016. After making one appearance for Miami, the Cuban concluded the 2016 NASL season with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, making 18 appearances.

In 2017, Carrales joined FC Tulsa before making the move to join Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire FC. Coralles returned to Tulsa on loan from Chicago before eventually being traded to CF Montréal in MLS, eventually helping the club win the 2019 Canadian Championship to claim its fourth Concacaf Champions League berth. During his four-year stint in MLS, Carrales made 61 appearances for Chicago and Montréal across Concacaf Champions Cup, MLS Cup Playoffs, MLS, MLS is Back, U.S. Open Cup and Canadian Championship play.

He rejoined FC Tulsa for the 2021 season and has remained in Oklahoma since, logging over 80 appearances for the club across four seasons.

The 32-year-old defender has made 46 appearances for the Cuba national team, appearing in competitions including FIFA World Cup qualification, Concacaf Gold Cup, Concacaf Nations League and the CFU Caribbean Cup, among others. Corrales guided Los Leones del Caribe to a Caribbean Cup title in 2012 - their first tournament victory since winning the gold medal at the 1986 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

"It's an honor for me to be part of this amazing project and amazing community," Corrales said. "The vision of this club to bring professional soccer to the Lexington community is truly inspiring, and I'm really excited to be a part of it.

"Really happy to sign with the club and bring the highest quality possible on and off the field. Winning is always the mentality for me going on the field. Vamos, LSC!"

"Jorge is a great addition to our club who can become a wonderful leader of this team," Lexington Head Coach Darren Powell said. "He is experienced at both the USL Championship level and led his country at the international level with Cuba. He is a determined player who can play as a left-sided center back or left-back. He has good distribution skills and can secure this team on the left defensively. We all welcome Jorge and his family to Lexington."
