CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Chattanooga Red Wolves SC today announced the addition of Jamil Roberts, a left back from Langport, England, to its 2024 roster, pending league and federation approval.

In 2023, Roberts played for National Premier Leagues Queensland side Peninsula Power FC in Australia. Roberts played a total of 1,377 minutes across 17 matches for the team and contributed one goal and three assists.

In the 2022 season, Roberts was a part of South Georgia Tormenta FC's title-winning squad. Roberts played a total of 1,363 minutes starting 15 out of 26 games for Tormenta and had three goals and one assist on the season.

Previous to League One play, Roberts played for Sporting Kansas City II from July 2021 to Feb. 2022. Roberts also attended Marshall University for his four collegiate years. He totaled 4,545 minutes for the Herd with 19 goals and 20 assists, 2nd all-time. In 2020, Roberts scored the match-winning overtime golden goal to defeat third-seeded Indiana by a score of 1-0 to win the Thundering Herd the NCAA Division I Men's National Championship for the first time in program history.

"Jamil is a winner, he has won at college, he has won in USL League One and he has scored in both finals he has played in," said Chattanooga Head Coach Scott Mackenzie. "With the goals we have, we felt it was important to sign players that have a proven track record of being part of winning programs and cultures. He is a left back who comes in with a great engine, a lot of quality in his left foot and a track record of being a winner. Jamil will play a big part in shaping our team on and off the field."

"I'm very excited to be joining Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, and am so grateful to be a part of this fantastic club," Roberts said. "I can't wait to meet all of our amazing fans. I promise to give 100% every day, as we strive to bring championships to this club and to this city."
