TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the 2023 All-League First and Second Teams, recognizing the regular season's top performers. 

The Players' Shield winners, Union Omaha, earned the most representation across both teams with five, while North Carolina and Northern Colorado join the Owls as the only teams to have multiple players named to the First Team. In total, 17 of the 22 players named to the All-League First and Second Teams earned the honor for the first time.

The finalists for the 2023 USL League One Awards will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 1, preceding the 2023 USL League One Final. The league's crowning match will pit Dogwood Derby rivals North Carolina FC and the Charlotte Independence against each other for the 19th time and take place on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. ET live on ESPN2.

The 2023 USL League One All-League Teams were voted on by team technical staffs and executives.

2023 USL LEAGUE ONE ALL-LEAGUE FIRST TEAM

GK – Austin Pack, Charlotte Independence: In his first full season as a starter, Pack set a new league record with his 116 saves during the regular season. The 29-year-old shot-stopper added nine clean sheets, 208 recoveries and 150 successful long passes.

D – Arthur Rogers, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: With a league-leading 11 assists on the season, the 2023 USL League One Golden Playmaker now possesses the most assists in league history after just a pair of campaigns in League One. The 27-year-old defender led the league with 90 crosses and 88 chances created - the most in a single season in league history - while adding 197 completed long passes, 189 recoveries, 170 duels won and 41 tackles won. Rogers' passing score (72.48) was the highest on the season - and second-highest in league history behind his own record set a season ago - according to American Soccer Analysis.

D – Jordan Skelton, One Knoxville SC: Pairing up defensively with Sean Lewis in goal, the League One veteran and Newcastle native helped lock down the Knoxville back line in the club's first season in the league. Skelton led the league with his 170 clearances and added 181 duels won, 133 recoveries, 27 tackles won, 25 blocks, one goal and one assist.

D – Alexis Souahy, Union Omaha: The 2018 USL Championship title-winner and former Comoros international hit the ground running in his first season in Omaha. Souahy tallied 149 recoveries, 134 completed long passes, 113 duels won, 89 clearances, 23 interceptions and one goal.

M – Mikey Maldonado, North Carolina FC: In his first season in Cary, Maldonado helped North Carolina FC to its best finish in League One with a goal, 158 recoveries, 110 duels won, 95 completed long passes, 29 chances created and an 85% passing accuracy.

M – Rafa Mentzingen, North Carolina FC: The Brazilian midfielder earned his second career League One All-League selection with a special debut campaign in Cary. Mentzingen more than doubled his previous career-high of goals in a single season with 13 in 2023, adding five assists, 46 chances created, 190 duels won and 147 recoveries.

M – JP Scearce, Union Omaha: The Owls' all-time appearances leader helped his side earn its second Players' Shield in club history with six goals and two assists to go along with 230 duels won, 154 recoveries, 94 long passes completed, 63 clearances and 25 chances created.

M – Nil Vinyals, Richmond Kickers: In his fifth season in the league, Vinyals earned his first All-League selection with a six-goal, four-assist campaign for the Players' Shield holders. The Spaniard added 159 duels won, 135 recoveries and 66 chances created.

F – Trevor Amann, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: The second-year professional and 2023 USL League One Golden Boot winner shattered a league record with his 23 goals on the season. Amann set single-season league records with seven braces, 109 total shots and 45 shots on target. Amann's expected goals plus expected assists mark (21.52) and goals added value (5.80) were the most in league history, according to American Soccer Analysis.

F – Oalex Anderson, North Carolina FC: The St. Vincent and the Grenadines international doubled his career scoring total with 17 goals in 2023. Anderson added six assists, 39 shots on target and 23 chances created to NCFC's stellar 2023.

F – Ates Diouf, Lexington SC: Diouf more than doubled his career goalscoring total with an explosive, 15-goal season in Lexington's League One debut. The Senegalese striker also contributed with 153 duels won, 85 recoveries, 22 chances created and completed 82% of his passes.

2023 USL LEAGUE ONE ALL-LEAGUE SECOND TEAM

GK – Sean Lewis, One Knoxville SC: The 2023 USL League One Golden Glove winner showed out in Knoxville's first League One season, totaling 85 saves, eight clean sheets and 1.04 goals against average.

D – Dion Acoff, Union Omaha: The veteran Icelandic Besta deild karla and Finnish Veikkausliiga defender earned his first All-League selection in his second season in Omaha with one goal, three assists, 85 recoveries, 73 duels won and 21 chances created.

D – Jake Crull, Forward Madison FC: Playing in League One since its inception in 2019, the Austrian defender earned his first All-League selection with a strong first season in Madison. Crull distributed an all-time league-high 1,936 passes and added two goals, one assist, 36 chances created, 190 recoveries, 152 duels won, 124 successful long passes, 88 clearances, 41 tackles won and 40 interceptions.

D – Bruno Rendón, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: The former Syracuse Pulse standout enjoyed a breakout campaign in Windsor alongside a talented group of defenders. The former Cuba youth international registered a career-high five goals and three assists to go along with 189 duels won, 135 recoveries, 58 clearances, 46 tackles won and 23 chances created. Rendón's goals added mark (3.51) was the most among defenders and third-highest on the season, according to American Soccer Analysis.

M – Mukwelle Akale, South Georgia Tormenta FC: The 2022 USL League One champion and Villarreal CF youth product enjoyed another stellar season in Statesboro. Akale exploded for a career-high 11 goals and four assists and tacked on 129 duels won, 90 recoveries, 38 chances created, 30 shots on target and 20 successful crosses.

M – Omar Ciss, Charlotte Independence: The 2022 USL League One Young Player of the Year finalist followed up his productive debut campaign in Charlotte with three goals and five assists in 2023. Ciss added 149 recoveries, 133 duels won, 82 completed long passes and 28 chances created.

M – Joel Johnson, Charlotte Independence: Returning to Charlotte following a one-year stint with Hartford Athletic, the Jacks' all-time appearances leader showed out in his return to the Queen City. The former Liberia international registered career-highs with six goals and four assists and contributed with an additional 108 recoveries, 94 duels won, 64 completed long passes and 51 chances created.

M – Angelo Kelly-Rosales, One Knoxville SC: Following a consistent career in the USL Championship, Kelly-Rosales made the move to League One and Knoxville in the offseason. The Honduran midfielder found the back of the net for the first time in his career with three goals and totaled one assist, 169 duels won, 155 recoveries, a league-high 51 tackles won, 33 interceptions and 21 chances created. 

F – Leo Castro, Greenville Triumph SC: The 2016 CAF Champions League winner and decorated Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns FC striker was lethal in his first season in Greenville. The Colombian's 13 goals were the second-most in a single season across his 15-year professional career, and he added 219 duels won, 85 recoveries, 34 chances created and four assists.

F – Steevan Dos Santos, Union Omaha: The veteran USL Championship goalscorer bagged 13 scores in his first season in Omaha. The former Cape Verde international set an all-time league record with his 247 duels won and also registered 69 recoveries, 35 clearances, 30 chances created and 27 shots on target.

F – Noe Meza, Union Omaha: The Owls' all-time leading goalscorer added 12 to his tally to go along with his two assists, 33 chances created, 104 duels won and 69 recoveries.
