Northern Colorado's Trevor Amann claims League One Golden Boot after record-breaking season

Knoxville's Sean Lewis earns first Golden Glove, Northern Colorado's Arthur Rogers named Golden Playmaker for first time

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One on Sunday announced its first official awards for the 2023 regular season as Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann claimed his his first Golden Boot and One Knoxville SC goalkeeper Sean Lewis was awarded his first Golden Glove. Northern Colorado defender Arthur Rogers earned the Golden Playmaker award for the first time in his career.

In just his second professional season, Trevor Amann constructed the most prolific scoring season in league history - just an hour up the road from his hometown. Amann scored 23 goals - five more than the previous single-season league record (Emiliano Terzaghi (RIC) 2021). The 25-year-old forward scored or assisted seven match-winning goals as he helped Northern Colorado record the second-most goals scored in league history (59).

"It just shows that when you work hard and put your mind to something, anything is possible," Amann said. "Always have to thank my teammates for giving me assists and putting me in good spots."

"Trevor's record, I don't know when that will be broken," Hailstorm Head Coach Éamon Zayed said. "I don't think anytime soon, so it's marvelous for him."

2023 USL LEAGUE ONE GOLDEN GLOVE, presented by SELECT - Sean Lewis, One Knoxville SC

In his eighth professional campaign and first as a starter through the entirety of a season, One Knoxville SC's Sean Lewis maintained the lowest goals-against-average mark at 1.04. Lewis finished the season with the third-most saves (85) and tied for the fourth-most clean sheets (8) across the league in 2023. The 31-year-old goalkeeper helped Knoxville concede just 39 goals in its inaugural League One season - tied for the second-fewest.

A season after recording nine assists, second-year Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC defender Arthur Rogers tallied 11 assists to claim the Golden Playmaker award and match Jonathan Bolanos' (RIC) league record set a season ago. Now the league's all-time leader in assists with 20, the Londoner matched a league record with a three-assist match against Knoxville on July 12.

"I'm obviously very proud and very thankful, it's a big credit to my teammates," Rogers said. "It was something I had set as a goal at the beginning of the season."

"You can single him out and rightfully so," Hailstorm Head Coach Éamon Zayed said. "I'm sure he'll be up for MVP and it's well deserved."

The 2023 USL League One Golden Boot, Golden Glove and Golden Playmaker awards are the opening three awards that will be presented by the league this year. League One's Most Valuable Player, Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Defender of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and the USL League One All-League Teams will be announced in the coming weeks.
