Former League One forward becomes fourth coach to earn honor twice in single season

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC's Éamon Zayed has been named the League One Coach of the Month for September. The former League One forward won the most points across the league and helped the Hailstorm clinch its first-ever postseason berth.

Northern Colorado's 16 points won through its 5-1-1 record was the most on the month. The two-time Coach of the Month winner guided his Hailstorm to victories over Charlotte, Greenville, South Georgia, Lexington and Central Valley, and led or was tied for the lead in goal differential (+6), wins (5) and clean sheets (3).

"When I won it earlier in the season, I said it was too early in the year to win it. Give it to me in September, October, November because that's when it really matters," Zayed said. "Five wins, a draw, and a loss - 16 points is the most in a month in Hailstorm history. It's excellent, credit to the guys who showed the grit and determination after a rough start to August."

Zayed becomes the fourth coach in league history to claim the award twice in a single season, joining Eric Quill (NTX, 2019), John Harkes (GVL, 2020) and Ian Cameron (TRM, 2022) - all of whom went on to claim the League One title that season.

Zayed was selected as League One's Coach of the Month by the USL League One Technical Committee.
