Steevan Dos Santos' four-goal week earns Omaha six points

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 30 of the 2023 regular season with Union Omaha forward Steevan Dos Santos named Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with his four goals across the Owls' six-point week.

Leading Omaha's push for the Players' Shield, Dos Santos scored four goals in Week 30 to confirm his highest-scoring professional season since 2015. The former Cape Verde international and 11th-highest goalscorer in USL Championship history kicked off the week with a 29-minute hat trick - just the second of his career and first since his trifecta for Ullensaker/Kisa IL in the 2013 Norwegian Football Cup - to propel the Owls to a 4-1 victory over Charlotte on Wednesday before adding a goal in Omaha's 4-0 thrashing of the defending champions in Statesboro.

"Everything I do, I do for the team," Dos Santos said. "I'm happy that I could help the team score and earn another win, as well."

"Steevan is a great player," Union Omaha Head Coach Dominic Casciato said. "I think he's gone from strength to strength. You know, the more he’s been with us, he's a leader. He's won everywhere he's been and there's a reason why he's had the career he's had."

"I think our identity and our style now is super, super clear," Casciato added. "It's just really pleasing for the guys to one: match the intensity, bring our own level of intensity, and two: play the way that we did with or without a ball. I thought we were excellent."

Omaha's six-point and Greenville's four-point week earns the pair of sides a week-high six players named to the Team of the Week and Team of the Week bench, while Richmond and Northern Colorado also saw multiple players named to the list.
