TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 25 of the 2023 regular season with Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC midfielder Noah Powder named Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with his one-goal, two-assist performance in the Hailstorm's victory over the Independence.

After splitting the 2022 season with USL Championship sides Indy Eleven and FC Tulsa, the two-time USL Championship title-winner and former Major League Soccer talent joined the Hailstorm in July 2023. The Trinidad and Tobago international has helped the Hailstorm to a club record 43 points and 12 wins with the first three-goal-contribution match of his career in Northern Colorado's massive Week 25 victory over the Charlotte Independence.

Powder started his afternoon by laying the ball off to Trevor Amann in the sixth minute who slotted home his 19th goal of the season - the most in a single regular season in League One history. In an even 2-2 contest with just over 10 minutes remaining, Powder unleashed a long-range, on-target effort to stun Charlotte's Austin Pack in goal for his first Hailstorm goal. Rounding out a productive evening and massive Hailstorm victory, Powder set up Marky Hernandez's stoppage-time score.

"I looked over my shoulder and no one was behind me, and you really shouldn’t give me that much space," Powder said of his first Hailstorm goal.

"After going 12 unbeaten, we lost to North Carolina, lost to Charlotte, lost to Lexington," Hailstorm Head Coach Éamon Zayed said after the victory. "Now we redeemed ourselves against North Carolina last week, against Charlotte tonight, and we have a chance to redeem ourselves against Lexington on Wednesday."

Central Valley, Chattanooga and Lexington place multiple starters on the Team of the Week and eight clubs see representation across the Team of the Week and Team of the Week bench. Further exemplifying the parity of the league, nine of the 11 starters and five of the seven bench players came from clubs below the playoff line as the push for the postseason continues.

GK - Amal Knight, Lexington SC: Knight tallied four saves in his side's 1-1 draw with Greenville. According to American Soccer Analysis, the Jamaica international led all goalkeepers in goals added (2.38) and goals conceded below expected (-2.21) on the week.

D - Nicolás Cardona, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC: The Puerto Rican international defender is enjoying the most productive scoring season of his career and nodded in his side’s opening goal - his second goal in as many matches - on Saturday. Cardona added eight duels won, eight recoveries and seven completed long balls.

D - Jordan Skelton, One Knoxville SC: The first-year Knoxville defender scored his first professional goal - the match-winning score in OKSC's victory over South Georgia. Skelton tallied 12 clearances, completed four long passes, won three duels, recorded three recoveries and helped his side limit the league’s highest-scoring offense to just one goal. 

D - Jamie Smith, Greenville Triumph SC: The 25-year-old Birmingham, England native bagged his first professional goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time to help Greenville to a late draw in Lexington. Smith also recorded seven duels won, five recoveries and three clearances.

D - Mekeil Williams, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC: The veteran Trinidad and Tobago international scored his first goal of the season - and fifth of his career - in match-winning fashion over Madison on Saturday. The 33-year-old defender registered 10 recoveries, eight duels won, six completed long balls and completed nearly 85% of his passes.

M - Victor Falck, Central Valley Fuego FC: Falck played all but four minutes of Fuego FC’s two-match Week 25 and tallied his second assist of the season on Wednesday. The Swedish midfielder enjoyed a productive week, winning nine duels, reeling in six recoveries, creating a joint-league-high five chances and completing four long passes.

M - João Gomiero, Richmond Kickers: The first-year Kicker is putting together a career season in Richmond and tallied the first one-goal, one-assist match of his career on Wednesday. Gomiero won 11 duels, recorded four recoveries and completed three long passes.

M - Terique Mohammed, Lexington SC: The former Canada youth international recorded his third assist of the season on Wednesday to set a new career-high. Mohammed also led the league with his 12 duels won, four tackles won and four interceptions in Week 25.

M - Noah Powder, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: A midseason addition to the Hailstorm, Powder has now matched a career-best five goal contributions in a single season thanks to a goal and two assists in Northern Colorado’s big Week 25 victory. The Trinidad and Tobago international also won eight duels and three tackles.

F - Alexis Cerritos, Central Valley Fuego FC: Fuego FC’s breakout star was the lone player to register multiple goals in Week 25. The El Salvador international scored in each of Central Valley’s two matches and added six duels won, three recoveries and two tackles won, all while completing each of his 36 passes

F - Chevone Marsh, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC: The first-year Red Wolf has confirmed his most productive professional season following his pair of assists in Chattanooga's upset victory over Madison. The veteran forward also completed over 75% of his passes across 90 minutes of action.
