Pair of midweek matches kick off Week 24

Stout Greenville side to host Hungry Red Wolves

Matchup: Greenville Triumph SC (9-7-6, 6th) vs. Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (5-13-5, 11th)
Venue: Paladin Stadium; Greenville, S.C.
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Weather: Mostly sunny, 83°
Broadcast: ESPN+
Hashtag: #GVLvCHA
Series (First Meeting): 8-3-3, GVL (2019)

WHAT MATTERS

  • Eager to extend the streak: Greenville are 6-2-5 across their last 13 matches. It's the 12th time Triumph SC has conceded two or fewer losses across a double-digit stretch of matches in their nearly five-year existence.
  • History on both sides: Greenville's eight wins against Chattanooga are the most against a single opponent in club history, while Chattanooga's eight losses are also the most against a single opponent in club history.
  • Fifth-season slump?: Both Greenville (6th) and Chattanooga (11th) are on track to finish the season with their lowest position in the table in their respective club histories. Greenville has never finished below 3rd, and Chattanooga has never finished below 5th.
PLAYER TO WATCH

  • Lyam MacKinnon (GVL): Despite playing in just one of the series' 14 all-time matches, the Swiss striker is the all-time leading scorer following his record-breaking, four-goal performance in June.
AVAILABILITY REPORT

  • GVL: M - Devin Boyce (probable, injury), F - Leo Castro (probable, illness), GK - Jared Mazzola (questionable, injury), D - Tyler Polak (out, injury)
  • CHA: M - Christian Enriquez (out, injury)
TEAM MATCH PREVIEWS

Push for postseason continues for Hailstorm, Ibises

Matchup: South Georgia Tormenta FC (9-11-3, 8th) vs. Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC (10-5-6, 4th)
Venue: Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium; Statesboro, Ga.
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Weather: Sunny, 83°
Broadcast: ESPN+
Hashtag: #TRMvNCO
Series (First Meeting): 2-1-1, NCO (2022)

WHAT MATTERS

  • Moving on up: A win for Northern Colorado - its first in over a month - would position the Hailstorm at third place, while a South Georgia victory could bump the Ibises above the playoff line for the first time since May depending on how Greenville handles Chattanooga.
  • Double-digit Delgado?: A Hailstorm clean sheet would see Lalo Delgado become just the fourth goalkeeper in League One history to earn 10 or more clean sheets in a single regular season. That feat may be tricky, though, as Northern Colorado will face the league's most potent offense in South Georgia with its league-leading 41 goals.
  • Race to the playoffs: If things continue as they are now, Northern Colorado will finish 3rd and play postseason soccer for the first time in club history, while South Georgia will finish 7th and become the first defending champion to miss out on postseason play in the season following their title.
PLAYER TO WATCH

  • Kazaiah Sterling (TRM): The reigning Player of the Week and the series' all-time leading scorer, Sterling tallied his seventh multi-goal match of his career in a 4-2 thrashing of Madison at Tormenta Stadium last Saturday.
AVAILABILITY REPORT

  • TRM: D - Jake Dengler (questionable, injury)
  • NCO: F - Valentín Sabella (out, injury)
