FRESNO, Calif. - Central Valley Fuego FC forward Alexis Cerritos has been called up to El Salvador national team training camp in San Salvador between Aug. 14 and 16.
The 22-year-old former USL Championship talent - the lone representative from an American club in the camp - appeared for La Selecta at the youth international level on nine occasions before making his senior national team debut on Oct. 8, 2017, as a 17-year-old against Canada in an international friendly in Houston.
Alexis Cerritos, the son of La Selecta mainstay and San Jose Earthquakes legend Ronald Cerritos, is in his second season with Central Valley and was recently named to the Team of the Week for the fifth time this season. The Fuego FC star leads his side with five goals on the season and is six scores shy of surpassing Christian Chaney as the club's all-time leading scorer.
