MADISON, Wis. - Forward Madison FC today announced the signing of winger Pierre Da Silva for the remainder of the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval. The 25-year-old joins an FMFC squad that is currently in fifth place in USL League One entering the last three months of the season.
The Port Chester, N.Y. native had a successful youth career in the United States, moving from New York to Florida in 2016 and later becoming the first player to progress from the Orlando City Pro Academy to Orlando City B to the first team. Da Silva made his professional debut in the USL Championship on March 26, 2016 for Orlando City B in the club's first-ever match and was later signed to an MLS contract with Orlando in January 2017. After his successful debut campaign, Da Silva was tabbed as the top prospect on the 2017 USL 20 Under 20 list.
Da Sliva went on to make 49 appearances with Orlando City B and four appearances with Orlando City SC. The winger was loaned to Brazil's Club Athletico Paranaense for the duration of the 2019 MLS season but did not make an appearance with the Série A side. Between 2018 and 2022, Da Silva made appearances for USL Championship sides Saint Louis FC, Memphis 901 FC and, most recently, Miami FC. In 112 professional appearances, Da Silva has tallied 11 goals and 13 assists.
Of Brazilian and Peruvian descent, the New York native made 21 appearances and scored twice for the United States youth national team across the U-17 and U-19 levels between 2014 and 2016. Da Silva represented the United States at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
"Pierre is a great player that we think will fit well into the Forward Madison FC system," FMFC Head Coach Matt Glaeser said. "He’s eager to make an impact here in Madison."
