Northern Colorado's Amann secures second-career Player of the Week nod

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 17 of the 2023 regular season with Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann named Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with his three goals scored across Northern Colorado's undefeated, two-match week.

The reigning Player of the Month and Golden Boot leader earned his second-career Player of the Week nod with a 27-minute brace to secure a remarkable comeback victory over the Charlotte Independence on Independence Day before bagging his 11th League One goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Chattanooga on Saturday.

"I scored one almost exactly like that against Omaha," Amann said after his brace against Charlotte. "That’s probably my favorite spot to go on corner kicks and I was lucky that Arthur [Rogers] put it there and I headed home."

Omaha fittingly lead all sides with four starters on the Team of the Week following its 4-1 drubbing of Richmond, while Charlotte and Northern Colorado each see multiple starters represented on the list.

GK - Rashid Nuhu, Union Omaha: Nuhu racked up a week-high six saves in his 10-man side’s 4-1 thrashing of Richmond. The Ghanaian shot-stopper conceded just one goal on the day which came in the form of a penalty kick.

D - Dion Acoff, Union Omaha: The veteran defender earned his second career League One Team of the Week nod with an assist on Noe Mesa’s match-winning goal. Acoff helped Omaha limit the Richmond damage with six duels won, five recoveries, three completed dribbles and two clearances.

D - Jalen Crisler, One Knoxville SC: Crisler tallied his first goal in a Knoxville shirt in a 2-2 draw with North Carolina. The 2022 League One Defender of the Year runner-up added six recoveries, four clearances and maintained the highest goals-added figure on the week (0.70), according to American Soccer Analysis.

D - Mitch Osmond, Forward Madison FC: Osmond helped Madison onto its league-best eighth clean sheet with his 93% passing accuracy, 12 clearances, seven duels won and seven recoveries.

M - Arthur Rogers, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC: Filling the role of defensive midfielder in Week 17, the reigning Defender of the Year assisted Trevor Amann’s match-winning goal against Charlotte on Tuesday. Rogers totaled 12 duels won, 12 recoveries, and seven chances created across two Week 17 matches.

M - Miguel Ibarra, Charlotte Independence: The former United States international recorded the best passing score in Week 17, according to American Soccer Analysis, with his 96% passing accuracy. Ibarra tallied two assists across two matches to go along with 13 recoveries, four duels won and four chances created.

M - Tresor Mbuyu, Charlotte Independence: Mbuyu registered a match-winning goal and an assist across a pair of Week 17 matches, racking up nine duels won, six recoveries and four dribbles completed.

M - JP Scearce, Union Omaha: The Owls’ all-time appearances leader bagged his 14th Omaha goal across all competitions with his opener against Richmond on Saturday. Scearce also won nine duels, tallied six recoveries and registered a pair of interceptions.

F - Dane Kelly, Charlotte Independence: The USL Championship’s all-time leading scorer is starting to heat up in his return to Charlotte, as Kelly scored in back-to-back matches for the first time since April 2022. The former Jamaica international won six duels, recorded three recoveries and tallied a pair of interceptions to go along with his pair of scores.
