24-year-old Westminster, Colo. native became Hailstorm's all-time leading scorer with five-goal May

TAMPA, Fla. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC forward Trevor Amann was voted USL League One’s Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for May.

Across just 247 minutes of action in May, Amann became Northern Colorado’s all-time leading scorer following his five-goal May. The Westminster, Colo. native added to the Hailstorm’s unbeaten 3-0-0 month with one assist, one penalty won and the best goals-added mark in the league (1.20), according to American Soccer Analysis.

After closing out April with a brace against Union Omaha on April 29, Amann totaled two goal contributions in each of the Hailstorm's three matches in May. Amann registered a goal and the match-winning assist in the Hailstorm's 2-1 victory in Knoxville on May 13 before scoring twice in Northern Colorado's 2-0 victory over then-unbeaten Forward Madison FC on May 19.

Amann and the Hailstorm rounded out their three-match month with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Ice and Fire Cup rivals Central Valley Fuego FC in the former's home opener and first-ever professional match at Future Legends Complex. Amann helped the Hailstorm race out to a four-goal halftime lead with a six-minute brace to close out the first half.

"It's exciting for me as a player in my second year to be playing so well and be playing with such a good group of guys," Amann said. "It's special for me but it's really a testament to the guys. We went undefeated and I scored some goals; I'm just doing my job."

"I'm delighted for him, "Northern Colorado Head Coach Éamon Zayed said. "I feel like it's a reward for all the hard work he puts in, not just on game day but in training as well, day in and day out."

Amann received 50% of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. North Carolina FC midfielder Louis Perez finished second on 19% with two goals and one assist for first-place NCFC, while first-year Richmond Kickers midfielder João Gomiero finished third on 17% after recording three goals in one week.
