North Carolina, Charlotte remain on top despite recent losses

North Carolina and Central Valley bookend the Power Rankings for the third consecutive week, while Madison's unbeaten start to 2023 continues to see the 'Mingos rise.

Last Week: 1		 A tough loss against a solid Madison side was certainly head-turning. Still, NCFC clearly remains the top team in the league - for now, at least.
2 Charlotte Independence

Week 10: v. NC
Last Week: 2 		By virtue of playing the most games this season, the Jacks are still second in the table. That said, two straight losses are tough, and Austin Pack can only carry this team for so long.
3 Richmond Kickers
(2-1-4)
Week 10: @ NC, v. LEX		 1
Last Week: 4		 Quietly climbing up the table after a slow start to the season, the seventh-place Kickers can vault up to second place with a win against top-of-the-table NCFC on Wednesday. 
4 Forward Madison FC
(2-0-4)
Week 10: v. NCO		 3
Last Week: 7		 After a strong offseason and unbeaten start to the season, Madison was on the cusp of something special. A convincing win against the league’s top side should keep that momentum going.
5 Union Omaha
(2-1-3)
Week 10: @ CHA 		2
Last Week: 3		 Omaha have been off for over two weeks as they prep for three games in the span of seven days starting on Saturday. Don’t be shocked if the eighth-place Owls, efficient as always, fly up the table soon.
6 South Georgia Tormenta FC
(4-4-0)
Week 10: @ CV		 1
Last Week: 5		 The key to beating the defending champs is apparently just scoring? Tormenta FC has lost every league match in which an opponent has scored this season. The Tormenta FC attacking and midfield units have looked solid early, though.
7 Greenville Triumph SC
(3-4-1)
Week 10: v. KNX		 1
Last Week: 6		 Triumph SC is unbeaten in four of its last five, with that lone loss coming against the league’s top side. John Harkes’ club is tied for the most goals scored across the league (12), but has conceded a league-high 12 goals, too.
8 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC
(2-1-2)
Week 10: @ MAD
Last Week: 8		 The Hailstorm have played a league-low five matches this season and are subsequently near the bottom of both the table and most statistical categories. Don’t let that fool you, though; Northern Colorado are one of the more efficient and productive sides in the league this season.
9 One Knoxville SC
(3-3-2)
Week 10: v. CHA, @ GVL
Last Week: 9		 Knoxville have struggled to put away chances and score from open play, but a manageable upcoming slate of Chattanooga, Greenville and Lexington should bode well for the newcomers.
10 Lexington SC
(2-4-1)
Week 10: @ RIC		 1
Last Week: 11		 Strong individual performances again have led Lexington to a special second victory of the season. LSC will look to keep the momentum going and earn its first road points in club history as they visit City Stadium on Saturday.
11 Chattanooga Red Wolves SC
(2-4-1)
Week 10: v. OMA		 1
Last Week: 10		 On the heels of their most successful season, the Red Wolves are now on track for their worst. Chattanooga had never previously dropped below eighth in the league table but are now below eighth for the third week this season.
12 Central Valley Fuego FC
(1-5-1)
Week 10: v. TRM
Last Week: 12		 Fuego FC’s second season has been rough - and that’s putting it lightly. Riding a four-match losing streak and the second-longest scoreless streak in league history, Central Valley will face an uphill battle as they’ll be tasked with navigating a gauntlet of early summer matches.
