Power Rankings remain relatively unchanged after busy Week 8

The top four and bottom two spots remain unchanged from Week 7, while South Georgia and Greenville enjoy a subtle jump up the rankings after solid Week 8 victories.

What do you make of Madison's unbeaten streak? When will Central Valley snap its winless streak? Tell us why your club should rank higher and keep the conversation going on Twitter at @USLLeagueOne.

Summary

1 North Carolina FC
(5-1-1)
Week 9: v. MAD

Last Week: 1
John Bradford’s boys can’t stop winning. North Carolina FC’s streak of seven unbeaten matches and four victories is the most for the club since 2019 and 2016, respectively.
2 Charlotte Independence
(3-1-4)
Week 9: @ LEX

Last Week: 2
The Jacks’ seven-match unbeaten streak was snapped at the hands of Greenville on Wednesday. A big Dogwood Derby match against North Carolina is in store for Charlotte on May 21, but the Independence need to avoid overlooking a Lexington side hungry for an upset on Saturday.
3 Union Omaha
(2-1-3)
Week 9: --

Last Week: 3
Rashid Nuhu and the Omaha defense have been solid again this season; the unit has helped the Owls concede 3.87 fewer goals than expected. Rising to the occasion last week, the group did its job to hold an (uncharacteristically) offensively challenged Richmond side scoreless.
4 Richmond Kickers
(2-1-3)
Week 9: @ GVL

Last Week: 4
Operating efficiently early, both scoring more and conceding less than expected, the Players’ Shield holders still aren’t firing on all cylinders offensively. Richmond’s five goals through its first six matches are the fewest since 2017, while Emiliano Terzaghi has accounted for fewer than two goals through a six-match stretch for just the second time in his Kickers career.
5 South Georgia Tormenta FC
(4-4-0)
Week 9: --
2
Last Week: 7
An up-and-down start to its title-defending campaign has seen Tormenta FC start to inch its way back up the table. While the Ibises have conceded the most goals in the league and are 0-4-0 when conceding a goal, Tormenta FC are tied for the league lead in clean sheets (4) and have claimed the second-most wins (4).
6 Greenville Triumph SC
(3-4-0)
Week 9: v. RIC
2
Last Week: 8
Despite its uncharacteristically slow start to the season, Greenville has joined North Carolina as the only pair of clubs to pick up nine or more points in their last four matches. A huge win against then-unbeaten Charlotte to open up May should help keep the momentum going.
7 Forward Madison FC
(1-0-4)
Week 9: @ NC
2
Last Week: 5
The good news is Madison is the only unbeaten team remaining this season. The bad news is the ‘Mingos are tied for the fewest wins this season with just one. Now, Madison’s undefeated start will surely be tested as they face first-place North Carolina FC this week.
8 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC
(1-1-2)
Week 9: @ KNX
2
Last Week: 6
The Hailstorm are obviously at a bit of a disadvantage with their league-low four matches played so far this season, but an upcoming four-match stretch consisting of contests against Knoxville, Madison, Central Valley and Lexington should be manageable for the second-year side.
9 One Knoxville SC
(2-2-2)
Week 9: v. NCO
1
Last Week: 10
It’s impressive to see the first-year League One club continue to improve upon its league-best average possession, now up to over 57% through six matches. Still, OKSC has been held back from converting that possessional advantage into tangible results due to some offensive struggles – the newcomers are tied for the second-fewest goals on the season (5) and maintain the worst shooting accuracy (29.51%).
10 Chattanooga Red Wolves SC
(2-3-1)
Week 9: ---
1
Last Week: 9
Like their Volunteer State counterparts, the Red Wolves are quite effective before reaching the attacking third; Chattanooga lead the league in passing accuracy (82.52%) and are second in average possession (53.64%). Even with the best shooting accuracy in the league (50%), the Red Wolves are tied for the second-fewest goals this season (5).
11 Lexington SC
(1-4-1)
Week 9: v. CLT

Last Week: 11
It’s been a tough couple months to start off Lexington’s inaugural campaign. LSC have struggled to hold on to leads with a league-high six points dropped from winning positions and have struggled to keep goals out of the back of the net with the lowest save percentage in the league (50%).
12 Central Valley Fuego FC
(1-5-1)
Week 9: --

Last Week: 12
Not only is Central Valley off to the fourth-worst start through seven matches in league history, but Fuego FC has also recorded the fewest goals through a club’s first seven matches in league history and is riding the second-longest scoreless streak in league history. Something needs to change soon.
