League One Player of the Month Nominees – April

A combined 14-4-6 record, 13 goals and nine clean sheets for April's nominees

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the five nominees for the League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for April, with top performers from the fifth season’s second month selected for the ballot.

Voting for the League One Player of the Month award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLLeagueOne.com will comprise 60% of the poll. The fan vote will run through Tuesday, May 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 40% of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Wednesday, May 10.

Please note: The League One Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as League One Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL LEAGUE ONE PLAYER OF THE MONTH – APRIL

F - Oalex Anderson, North Carolina FC – The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines international has followed up a career-best 2022 season with a strong start to 2023, scoring twice and assisting twice across five unbeaten April matches for NCFC. Anderson averaged a goal or assist every 69 minutes and added to his strong showing with 19 duels won and six chances created across the month.

M - Jackson Khoury, South Georgia Tormenta FC – First-year Ibis and rising Australian talent Jackson Khoury guided the defending champs to a pair of April victories with three goals and one assist. The 20-year-old winger's 13 crosses completed were the most in April and his 12 chances created were also the second-most on the month.

M - Rafa Mentzingen, North Carolina FC – Mentzingen exploded for a career-high five goals in a single month, propelling NCFC to an unbeaten 4-0-1 April. The League One veteran netted a pair of match-winning goals to go along with 35 duels won, 13 dribbles completed and a league-leading 11 shots on target.

F - Noe Meza, Union Omaha – Following a stellar debut professional season in 2022, Meza tallied three goals and two match-winning scores in Omaha's 2-1-1 month. The 25-year-old forward completed over 80% of his passes and added 18 duels won, six dribbles completed and six chances created.

GK - Austin Pack, Charlotte Independence – In his first full season as a starter and fourth in Charlotte, Pack led the Jacks to an unbeaten 2-0-3 April with his league-leading 22 saves and three clean sheets across five starts. In addition to a 91.67% save percentage in April, Pack set a personal record with nine saves in a single match against Omaha on April 19.
