Returning to historic Breese Stevens Field for the first time this season, Forward Madison FC is seeking advancement to the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup for the third consecutive tournament in its third appearance, as the 'Mingos host Midwest Premier League outfit Chicago House AC. The final Second Round match was postponed to Tuesday due to weather concerns in Madison a week ago.
Madison is 0-0-2 in its first two league matches, playing Union Omaha and Lexington SC to low-scoring draws. FMFC will strive to earn its fourth all-time Open Cup win in just its third appearance. For CHAC, the former professional club will play its second-ever Open Cup match after defeating 2022 USASA National Amateur Cup champions Bavarian United SC in the First Round in March.
With the Open Cup's Third Round Draw already completed, a victory on Tuesday evening will see Matt Glaeser's side travel to Bridgeview, Ill. to take on Major League Soccer club and four-time Open Cup champion Chicago Fire FC in the Third Round on Wednesday, April 26.
MAD - Christian Chaney: Chaney is the Mingos' lone goal scorer on the season after bagging his first with Madison in his side's 1-1 draw with Omaha to open the season.
CHI - John Makowiecki: The former Saint Louis University defender recorded Chicago's match-winning goal in the 39th minute to help CHAC advance against Bavarian United SC in the First Round.
