STATESBORO, GA. – South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the signing of defender Daltyn Knutson to its 2023 USL League One roster on a performance-based contract, pending league and federation approval. Knutson returns to Tormenta FC after three years with League One side Union Omaha.

Knutson returns to Tormenta FC after helping Omaha obtain its first League One title in 2021. Knutson appeared 70 times for Omaha across all competitions, providing a goal and three assists.

Knutson was a part of the Union Omaha team that made a historic run to the Quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2022, the farthest any League One team has progressed. Omaha knocked out Major League Soccer sides Chicago Fire FC in the Third Round and Minnesota United FC in the Round of 16 before falling to Sporting Kansas City in the Quarterfinals.

Knutson featured for Tormenta FC in its inaugural 2019 season and made 21 starts in League One.

"I’ve always appreciated how Tormenta FC’s organization has supported and treated me like family from the start," Knutson said. "It’s exciting to head back to Statesboro to join the team and defensive unit once more."

A University of Central Arkansas graduate, Knutson left his mark on the program with three career goals and 12 assists. The Spring, Texas native played 4,732 minutes while starting 53 of 54 matches played.
