CARY, N.C. - North Carolina FC announced the selection of defender Nelson Flores Blanco and forward Oalex Anderson to their respective national teams for Concacaf Nations League duty.

After flourishing as a member of the NCFC Academy, Flores Blanco made his senior national team debut for El Salvador in an international friendly against Bolivia in Nov. 2021. In total, the San Miguel native has made six appearances for La Selecta across Concacaf World Cup qualification and international friendly competition. 

After being promoted from Nations League B to Nations League A in the most recent edition of the competition, El Salvador sit atop Group B, have already qualified for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, and have a chance of qualify for the Nations League Finals this summer. Flores Blanco will be eligible for selection in an international friendly against Honduras on Wednesday, March 22 (11 p.m. ET / YouTube) at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles and La Selecta's final Nations League group stage match against the United States on Monday, March 27 (7:30 p.m. ET / TNT, NBC Universo, Peacock) at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Fla. A U.S. win or draw against Grenada on March 24 means El Salvador must beat the United States for the first time since a 1992 friendly in order to qualify for the Nations League Finals.

Oalex Anderson has amassed 31 caps with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national team since his senior national team debut in an international friendly against Dominica in Feb. 2014. the 27-year-old attacker has scored 15 goals and added two assists for the Vincy Heat across Concacaf World Cup qualification, Concacaf Nations League, CFU Caribbean Cup qualification and international friendly competition.

After an 0-1-3 start, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are last in League B, Group C, will not be able to qualify for the Gold Cup and will aim to stave off relegation in its final two matches. Anderson and the Vincy Heat return to Nations League action against Nicaragua on Friday, March 24 (8 p.m. ET / Paramount+) in Managua before wrapping up the second edition of the tournament against the Bahamas on Monday, March 27 (3 p.m. ET / Paramount+) in Arnos Vale.

With the postponement of North Carolina's March 23 fixture against Central Valley postponed until September, NCFC's duo will likely return to Cary without missing any matches for the club.
