USL LEAGUE ONE FANS’ CHOICE GOAL OF THE WEEK – WEEK 1

Mukwelle Akale (TRM) - #NCvTRM, March 17:  A perfectly timed ball from newcomer John Murphy Jr. in the 34th minute found a wide-open Mukwelle Akale down the pitch, allowing the Villarreal youth product to spin a low ball past the outstretched gloves of Nicholas Holliday in what would turn out to be the match-winning score.

Jimmie Villalobos (KNX) - #KNXvLEX, March 18: Defender James Thomas, Knoxville’s captain during its inaugural 2021 USL League Two season, drew a penalty early in the first half, allowing Jimmie Villalobos, the former Chattanooga Red Wolves SC man, to put away the penalty in the 17th minute and confirm Knoxville’s first professional goal.

Don Smart (LEX) - #KNXvLEX, March 18: Not long after Knoxville's opening penalty score, Sean O’Hearn got tangled up with Khalid Balogun, allowing League One veteran Don Smart to convert the penalty in the 28th minute for Lexington SC’s first-ever score.

Jake Keegan (KNX) - #KNXvLEX, March 18: Although Amal Knight got a hand on the initial shot, Jake Keegan pounced on the loose ball in the box to put away what would turn out to be the match-winner in the 40th minute.
