Versatile midfielder Allen Gavilanes returns to Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville Triumph SC announced the re-signing of midfielder Allen Gavilanes, pending league and federation approval. After coming off his most successful season to date, Gavilanes will return to Greenville for a third year.

Gavilanes proved to be a key player in Triumph SC’s 2022 season notching four goals, five assists and 54 chances created across 2,369 minutes of play. He appeared in 33 matches including the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and 2022 USL League One Playoffs. During his first season with the club, Gavilanes was named Greenville's Rookie of the Year after appearing in 18 matches and his first professional goal to beat New England in 2021.

A former Marist College Red Fox, Gavilanes played three seasons with the New York college before turning pro. The midfielder logged 4,490 minutes, 20 goals and 22 assists in 54 matches. He was voted three-time All-MAAC First Team, two-time MAAC All-Academic Team, 2018 All-East Second Team, 2017 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, MAAC Rookie of the Year and MAAC All-Rookie Team.
