STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the signing of Jackson Khoury to its 2023 USL League One roster on a two-year deal, with a one-year option, pending league and federal approval. The Australian native joins Tormenta FC following a year with Sydney United 58 FC in Australia's second-division National Premier Leagues NSW.

“Jackson is a very promising profile to bring to Tormenta, South Georgia Head Coach Ian Cameron said. "Khoury has natural habits we like in wide midfielders, such as a strong recognition when to arrive to feet to link play and when to stretch the game in behind to be dynamic. He can play on the right and cut inside or on the left and supply crosses, and with his size and aggression he will be someone we expect to arrive in the box often and be a goal threat.

"He loves to compete which will always be a staple of our teams and after he adjusts to his new environment, we believe he can be a key contributor this season.”

Khoury appeared for Sydney United in 2021, when he played eight games, scoring twice and assisting twice. With the Sydney-based team, Khoury took on the Western Sydney Wanderers of the A-League in the Football Federation Australia (FFA) Cup, now known as the Australia Cup.

Khoury was instrumental in Sydney United’s National Premier League NSW 2020 championship run. Khoury scored the third goal in the final and scored the second penalty kick in the penalty shootout after 120 minutes.

“I decided to join Tormenta for the upcoming season after speaking to the coaching staff about what they are looking to achieve and build after last season’s championship win" Khoury said. "I also think it will be a massive stepping stone for my career to help take it to the next level, and to grow as an individual being around the setup and mindset that the club has to offer.”

In 2022, Khoury spent time with the Central Coast Mariners Academy, which currently competes in the Y-League and National Premier Leagues. Khoury has also spent time with the Lebanon youth national team in previous camps.
