KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - One Knoxville SC continued its steady stream of signings with the confirmation of former Scotland youth international and Eredivisie midfielder Frank Ross on Tuesday. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

Growing up in Ellon, Scotland on the outskirts of Aberdeen, Ross began his youth footballing career within the youth ranks of Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen FC when he was eight years old. Ross developed in the Dons' youth system from 2006 to 2015 before making his first team debut in 2015.

Between 2015 and 2018, Ross made 13 appearances and scored one goal for AFC across Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup competition. Between 2018 and 2020, Ross made a pair of loan moves to Scottish Championship sides Greenock Morton FC and Ayr United FC with which he accumulated two goals and three assists in 20 appearances between the pair.

Most recently, Ross moved to the second-tied Dutch Eerste Divisie where he helped Go Ahead Eagles earn promotion to the top-flight Eredivisie in 2021. In Eredivisie, Eerste Divisie and KNVB Cup play, Ross racked up 26 appearances for the Dutch side.

"Frank is a tremendous talent who has experience at the highest leagues in Scotland and the Netherlands," One Knox SC Head Coach Mark McKeever said. "Frank has the ability to play inside or outside and I feel as though he can really ignite his career in USL League One."

In addition to his club success, Ross was called up on 16 occasions to represent the Scotland youth national team in varying competitions between 2013 and 2018 including the 2015 UEFA European U-17 Championship.

“I’m excited to play in a new style of football and push for success with the team and of course, I want to win trophies," Ross said. "From what I have heard, the gaffer sounds amazing to play for and I can’t wait to get going!”
