Greenville Triumph SC vs. Charlotte INdependence

Venue: Triumph Stadium at Legacy Early College; Greenville, S.C.
Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
Weather: Partly cloudy, 67°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #GVLvCLT

While either side can clinch with some favorable results elsewhere in Week 28, a potential winner in Saturday’s contest between Greenville Triumph SC (11-8-9, 2nd) and the Charlotte Independence (11-11-6, 6th) would punch its ticket to the playoffs. The home side has won each of the previous two meetings of the series, so Greenville may have some hope to clinch its postseason spot at Triumph Stadium.

GVL - Jacob Labovitz: Triumph SC has struggled with its offensive production down the stretch and may need to rely on its leading scorer to grab all three points.

CLT - Tresor Mbuyu: Another breakout star in League One, Mbuyu recorded his 10th goal of the season in Charlotte’s loss to Chattanooga last week.

North Carolina FC vs. Chattanooga Red Wolves SC

Venue: WakeMed Soccer Park; Cary, N.C.
Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
Weather: Clear, 60°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #NCvCHA

In an all-time series completely dominated by the Red Wolves, North Carolina FC (8-14-6, 11th) will host a Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (11-10-7, 5th) side that can clinch a playoff spot with a win. The visiting Red Wolves are an impressive 6-0-0 with an 18-8 goal differential in the series dating back to 2021. Already eliminated from postseason contention, NCFC will look to extend its two-match unbeaten streak with a victory in its final home match.

NC - Nicolas Rincon: The only player to record both a goal and assist in Week 27, the 16-year-old impressed with an additional 10 recoveries, nine duels won, 83% passing accuracy and 100% tackle success rate in two unbeaten matches for NCFC.

CHA - José Carrera-García: The only player with multiple assists in Week 27, Carrera-García assisted Mehl’s match-winning goal and Juan Galindrez’s late header in the Red Wolves’ win over Charlotte.

Forward MAdison FC vs. Richmond Kickers

Venue: Breese Stevens Field; Madison, Wis.
Kickoff: 8 p.m. ET
Weather: Clear, 49°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #MADvRIC

In the pair's 11th all-time meeting, Forward Madison FC (7-10-11, 9th) will look to even up the series and derail the Richmond Kickers' (13-7-8, 1st) hopes at locking up the top seed with a victory in its final home match of the season. Two teams heading in different directions, Richmond was the first team to clinch a postseason spot riding a seven-match unbeaten streak, while Madison was the first team eliminated with its seven-match winless run.

MAD - Jeremiah Streng: Madison's leading scorer hasn't found the back of the net in over a month. It would be nice for him to finish up his loan stint in Madison with a goal or two before returning to Europe.

RIC - Akira Fitzgerald: Fitzgerald was tied for a week-high seven saves in his side’s 1-1 draw with Tormenta FC last Sunday. The veteran ‘keeper conceded just one goal.

Union Omaha vs. South Georgia Tormenta FC

Hashtag: #OMAvTRM

In a battle of avian adversaries, a win by Union Omaha (10-6-12, 3rd) or a win by South Georgia Tormenta FC (11-9-8, 4th) would confirm a playoff spot for the respective victor. While Omaha has never lost to South Georgia, the Owls are in the midst of a five-match winless streak and the Ibises haven't dropped a contest in five matches.

OMA - Rashid Nuhu: Nuhu is may make his return to the pitch tonight as he leads the league in goals-against average and is on track to claim the Golden Boot.

TRM - Fuad Adeniyi: The 27-year-old defender recorded his first professional goal and the first-ever goal at Tormenta Stadium to earn the hosts a crucial draw against the league-leading Kickers last Sunday evening.

Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC vs. FC Tucson

Venue: Severance High School; Severance, Colo.
Kickoff: 9 p.m. ET
Weather: Clear, 57°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #NCOvTUC

Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC (10-10-9, 7th) will need to claim three points against FC Tucson (8-13-7, 10th) for the first time if they hope to maintain eligibility for postseason play. While finishing the season in good form, the Hailstorm are at a disadvantage thanks to having just one match remaining. Tucson was eliminated from postseason play thanks to a loss to Fuego FC on Wednesday but can spoil Northern Colorado's inaugural season by completing the season sweep on Saturday evening.

NCO - Arthur Rogers: Continuing his stellar campaign, Rogers is nominated for Player of the Month thanks to his chance-creation abilities.

TUC - Carlos Merancio: Despite two goals allowed on Wednesday, the Player of the Month nominee has played a huge role in Tucson's strong finish to the season.
