Final month of regular season starts with quartet of matches

Greenville Triumph SC vs. FC Tucson

Venue: Triumph Stadium at Legacy Early College; Greenville, S.C.
Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
Weather: Mostly cloudy, 64°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #GVLvTUC

All Greenville Triumph SC (11-8-8, 2nd) need to do to secure its postseason spot is defeat FC Tucson (8-12-6, 10th) at home on Saturday evening. Despite losing to Tucson just twice in eight all-time meetings, taking down the visitors may be difficult based on each side's current form. Tucson has picked up a league-high 13 points in its last five while Greenville has only earned three points in its last five - a mark good for second-fewest in the league.

GVL - Evan Lee: Evan Lee’s first professional goal came at the best possible time for Greenville as the 28-year-old’s score earned Triumph SC a crucial point on the road last week. Lee also completed 82% of his passes and recorded four clearances.

TUC - Louis Perez: Perez won and converted a match-winning penalty to keep Tucson’s playoff hopes alive last Tuesday night against NCFC. In two Week 25 victories, Perez accumulated 14 recoveries and won seven fouls.

North Carolina FC vs. Union OMaha

Venue: WakeMed Soccer Park; Cary, N.C.
Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
Weather: Mostly cloudy, 65°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #NCvOMA

It's been nearly a month since Union Omaha (10-6-11, 3rd) has picked up a win, but all the Owls need to do to clinch their postseason berth is defeat North Carolina FC (8-14-5, 11th) in Cary on Saturday evening. While NCFC clings on to its slim postseason hopes, if John Bradford's side fail to pick up three points on Saturday, NCFC will be eliminated from postseason contention. Dominating the all-time series, the Owls have never lost to NCFC in four prior meetings and outscored North Carolina 12 to three.

NC - Garrett McLaughlin: With a realistic chance to catch up to Emiliano Terzaghi at the top of the Golden Boot race, McLaughlin scored his 14th goal of the season against Central Valley on Wednesday.

OMA - Noe Meza: Now leading his side in goals with nine, the first-year pro added to his impressive total with a goal against Northern Colorado last week.

Chattanooga Red WOlves SC vs. Charlotte Independence

Venue: CHI Memorial Stadium; Chattanooga, Tenn.
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Weather: Partly cloudy, 69°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #CHAvCLT

The two sides right on the postseason bubble will battle at CHI Memorial Stadium as Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (10-10-7, 6th) and the Charlotte Independence (11-10-6, 5th) face off on Saturday. Both Chattanooga and Charlotte are tied on max points for the final playoff position, but that will obviously change pending the outcome of the pair’s third all-time meeting. While Chattanooga can neither clinch nor be eliminated this week, a surging Charlotte side does have a slim chance to sneak into the playoffs in its inaugural League One season as soon as Saturday.

CHA - Juan Galindrez: Although seeing limited playing time in recent weeks, Chattanooga's leading scorer has guided the Red Wolves to a 5-2-2 record when he finds the back of the net.

CLT - Omar Ciss: In addition to his banger of a match winner, Ciss completed 92% of his tackles, and recorded three clearances and three recoveries last week.

Central Valley Fuego FC vs. Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC

Venue: Fresno State Soccer Stadium; Fresno, Calif.
Kickoff: 10:30 p.m. ET
Weather: Clear, 86°
BroadcastESPN+
Hashtag: #CVvNCO

The final regular-season meeting between the league's two expansion sides, Central Valley Fuego FC (9-11-7, 8th) will host Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC (9-10-9, 7th) on Saturday evening as both sides hope to increase their playoff odds. In the third match of the Ice and Fire Cup, a loss by Northern Colorado would see the Hailstorm eliminated from postseason contention. Fuego FC is safe from elimination this week due to its three matches remaining.

CV - Christian Chaney: Chaney opened the scoring with a match-winning goal in the ninth minute of Fuego FC’s match against Madison last Wednesday before following it up with a goal against NCFC on Wednesday.

NCO - Brecc Evans: The only defender to record a brace this season and just the fourth in league history to do so, Evans’ first career brace led Northern Colorado to an improbable upset victory over visiting Omaha last week.
