TAMPA, Fla. – Union Omaha's Kevin Piedrahita claimed the USL League One Fans' Choice Save of the Month award for August presented by SELECT.
After scoring his goal in the first minute (!), Piedrahita leapt up to deny a powerful NCFC header before once again stifling a pair of follow-up chances. The substitute 'keeper racked up three saves and allowed just one NCFC goal to see his side through to a 4-1 victory.
Piedrahita's save earned 53% of the vote conducted at USLLeagueOne.com. Central Valley's Ofek Antman finished in second place on 36% for his leaping denial of a long-range Red Wolves shot on Aug. 3, while Northern Colorado's Johan Peñaranda finished third on 11% with his point-blank denial against Greenville on Aug. 27.
