By Staff, 09/08/22, 5:30PM EDT

Five special strikes are up for Goal of the Month

Continuing the season with some bangers and some shifty strikes. Now, the past month’s five best goals have advanced to August's Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month contest, and it’s your turn to pick which goal will claim the monthly honor.

Voting will continue through 12 p.m. ET on Monday, Sept. 12.

Rafa Mentzingen (CHA) - #CHAvGVL, August 6: Completing his four-minute brace, Mentzingen got his toe under the ball to execute a lofted chip to perfection.

Nico Brown (GVL) - #GVLvRIC, August 13: Despite playing just 21 minutes against Richmond on Saturday, Brown recorded the match-winning goal in the 90th minute with a perfectly weighted header.

Kevin Piedrahita (OMA) - #OMAvNC, August 20: In just his fourth start of the season, Piedrahita became the first goalkeeper to score a goal in league history with a boot from his own box that bounced over the NCFC ‘keeper on the opposite end of the pitch.

Miguel Ibarra (CLT) - #CLTvCHA, August 27: The 32-year-old executed a scissor kick to near perfection, hammering in a bouncing shot to the far post.

Louis Perez (TUC) - #NCvTUC, August 27: After the NCFC 'keeper punched the ball away, Perez hit the falling ball on the volley to send in Tucson's equalizing score in the 81st minute.
