STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the addition of midfielder Mutaya Mwape to its 2022 USL League One roster, pending league and federation approval. The midfielder joins the club’s first team after spending the summer with Tormenta FC 2 in USL League Two.

Mwape brings professional experience with him to Tormenta FC, having played for the Charlotte Independence in the USL Championship and the Richmond Kickers in USL League One with four goals scored and eight assists amassed in 53 appearances between the pair from 2018 to 2020.

In League Two with Tormenta FC 2, Mwape started 11 matches, playing 616 minutes, scoring once, and assisting thrice. Prior to his professional debut in Charlotte, Mwape also played for League Two’s Ocean City Nor'easters and Charlotte Eagles with which he won the Eastern Conference Championship and league title, respectively.
