STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the addition of midfielder Mukwelle Akale to its 2022 USL League One roster, pending league and federation approval.

The Minneapolis, Minn. native returns to the United States to play professionally for the first time in the country after seven years in Spain and Cyprus, playing with the U19, C and B teams of La Liga’s Villarreal CF before spending a year with Pafos FC of the Cypriot First Division.

Akale has featured for the United States U-17, U-18 and U-20 Men’s Youth National Teams on the international level. The 25-year-old has made 28 combined youth national team appearances and scored seven goals.
