TAMPA, Fla. – Union Omaha's Chavany Willis has claimed the USL League One Fans' Choice Goal of the Month award for July with an astonishing stoppage-time equalizer from distance against Chattanooga on July 30.
Nearing the conclusion of stoppage time, Willis unleashed an absurd shot from distance that nestled into the upper corner of the net to save a point for Omaha. Subbed on in the 81st minute, Willis' stoppage-time equalizer was his first for the Owls since joining over the offseason.
Willis' goal earned 46% of the vote conducted at USLLeagueOne.com to claim the award. Forward Madison FC’s Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu finished second on 28% with his floated shot from a tight angle against Northern Colorado on July 5, while Central Valley Fuego FC's Victor Falck finished third on 19% with his perfectly-placed free kick against Richmond on July 23.
