Top, bottom spots remain unchanged

Lots of movement up and down the table, Greenville Triumph SC retains its top spot following a Scoreless draw with Omaha on Saturday. Forward Madison FC and Union Omaha jump up one spot as the pair has accumulated 10 and nine points in their last five matches, respectively.

The biggest drop of the week sees the Richmond Kickers and North Carolina FC fall two spots. While Richmond’s losing streak was extended to two, North Carolina FC are in a free fall, earning just one point in its last five contests.

Summary

1 Greenville Triumph SC
(9-4-5)
Week 17:T v. OMA

Last Week: 1
Highest Ranking: 1
A scoreless draw with Omaha was enough to slightly widen the gap between Triumph SC and the Kickers following Richmond’s loss. Greenville is unbeaten in its last eight and have accumulated the most clean sheets in the league.
2 Forward Madison FC
(6-4-5)
Week 17:---
1
Last Week: 3
Highest Ranking: 2
Following a week off, Madison has a chance to claim sole possession of second place with a win over Omaha on Tuesday night. The ’Mingos are riding a two-match win streak and have accumulated 10 points in their last five – a mark that’s tied for the league lead.
3 Union Omaha
(5-2-7)
Week 17:T @ GVL
1
Last Week: 4
Highest Ranking: 2
Omaha has avoided conceding a loss in its last five contests, but the club with the fewest matches played has accumulated the most draws in the league which has hurt the Owl’s standing.
4 Richmond Kickers
(7-6-4)
Week 17:L @ CV
2
Last Week: 2
Highest Ranking: 1
A Week 16 loss to Greenville was followed up by an implosion in the Central Valley as the Kickers saw a pair of men sent off in the side’s 3-1 loss to Fuego FC. The Roos have plenty of time to recalibrate and still maintain the largest goal differential in the league.
5 South Georgia Tormenta FC
(6-5-6)
Week 17:W v. NC

Last Week: 5
Highest Ranking: 2
Life is good in Statesboro. Tormenta FC’s USL W League squad lifted the inaugural league trophy on Saturday and its men’s professional side took down NCFC in Statesboro just hours before. Matching Madison, Tormenta FC have picked up a league-high 10 points in its last five.
6 Central Valley Fuego FC
(6-5-5)
Week 17: W v. RIC
1
Last Week: 7
Highest Ranking: 1
Fuego FC took full advantage of an undermanned Kickers side, delivering Richmond its first multi-match losing streak of the season. Following back-to-back 1-0 losses, Central Valley is riding a two-match win streak.
7 Chattanooga Red Wolves SC
(6-8-3)
Week 17: T v. NCO
1
Last Week: 6
Highest Ranking: 1
The Red Wolves’ three-match losing streak was snapped with a win over a struggling NCFC side last week, but a 0-0 draw against Northern Colorado is a bit disappointing as Chattanooga fields the second-highest scoring offense in the league.
8 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC
(5-6-6)
Week 17:T @ CHA
1
Last Week: 9
Highest Ranking: 5
Believe it or not, but the Hailstorm are just one win off of potentially snagging third place in the league table after a rocky start to its inaugural season. Northern Colorado followed up a solid 3-1 win over Charlotte with a scoreless draw in Chattanooga.
9 Charlotte Independence
(6-7-4)
Week 17: W @ TUC
1
Last Week: 10
Highest Ranking: 1
An up-and-down first season in League One continues for the Independence. Despite accumulating the second-worst goal differential in the league, Charlotte has managed to position itself above the playoff line past the midway point of the season.
10 North Carolina FC
(5-8-3)
Week 17:L @ TRM
2
Last Week: 8
Highest Ranking: 2
The only thing keeping NCFC out of the Power Rankings gutter is a five-point upper hand on Tucson. Other than that, not much has been going right for a squad that started off the season with a really promising look. North Carolina’s six-match winless streak is the longest in the league.
11 FC Tucson
(3-9-4)
Week 17: L v. CLT

Last Week: 11
Highest Ranking: 7
Despite scoring as many (or as few?) goals as Omaha, Tucson has found grinding out results increasingly difficult. 14 of Tucson’s 16 matches have been decided by one goal or fewer, yet Jon Pearlman’s side has let a league-high 29 points escape from such contests.
