WINDSOR, Colo. - Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC Goalkeeping Coach Owain Fôn Williams has left his position and been named the new goalkeeping coach with Fleetwood Town FC in the English Football League (EFL) League One.

The former Welsh international goalkeeper made over 300 appearances in goal for EFL League One and League Two sides Tranmere Rovers FC, Stockport County FC, Rochdale AFC and Bury FC during his 17-year professional career. Fôn Williams also spent time in Scotland with Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, Dunfermline Athletic FC and Hamilton Academical FC while also spending one season in the United States with Indy Eleven. Following his retirement from playing professionally in early 2022, the 35-year-old began his coaching career with Northern Colorado.

“It’s been an absolute honor, I can’t thank Éamon [Zayed] enough and Kevin [Sawchak] for this opportunity,” said Fôn Williams. “I’m sad to be leaving, and my family is sad to be leaving. This has been our home for a short period of time and I was getting my teeth into it here. I can’t thank every single person that works for this organization and the boys enough.”

Last season, the Cod Army finished 20th in EFL League One in the side's eighth consecutive year in League One.
