TUCSON, Ariz. - Eric Kinzner has joined FC Tucson for the remainder of 2022 on loan from the Tacoma Defiance, the club announced Thursday.
Kinzner made 21 appearances for the Defiance in USL Championship in 2020 and 2021.
The 19-year-old first signed with Sounders FC Academy on July 13, 2020, from Federal Way Football Club. Kinzner was on the Sounders Academy U-17 squad that won the 2019 Generation Adidas Cup, beating Valencia CF in the final.
Kinzner has made 26 starts of 28 appearances with Tacoma Defiance since joining, including seven appearances and scored two goals in MLS NEXT Pro this season. He scored his first goal for Tacoma on April 17 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He headed in the ball from a free kick outside the box to bring tie the game 1-1.
Kinzner has also featured for the U.S. Men's Youth National Team at the U-15, U-16 and U-17 levels.
He will be available for selection on Saturday, July 9, when FC Tucson hosts Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC at Kino North Stadium. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET.
