Four exciting matches highlighted Week 12's opening day

Richmond Kickers 3 - 2 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Kickers (5-3-3, 1st) further cemented their status at the top of the league table with a 3-1 win over the visiting Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC (2-3-4, 10th) on Saturday evening at City Stadium. Despite the 10-man Hailstorm making a valiant comeback effort, the Kickers secured the win and tallied their second-consecutive three-goal match in the process.

The match was fairly even throughout the first half until a second yellow card shown to Northern Colorado's Destan Norman in the 29th minute altered the trajectory of the match. Richmond broke the match open with a pair of goals within the final five minutes of the first half, but defender Robert Cornwall nearly orchestrated a remarkable Hailstorm comeback with a goal and assist in the final 25 minutes of the match. The difference in this one ultimately came down to a Jonathan Bolanos goal for Richmond in the 76th minute.
