Richmond open June with 3-0 victory over Chattanooga

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Kickers (3-3-2, 4th) found their first win in over a month, defeating the visiting Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (3-4-2, 5th) by a final tally of 3-0 at City Stadium on Wednesday evening. After dropping six straight contests against Chattanooga, Richmond has now downed the Red Wolves in two of their last three meetings.

While the box score reflected a Red Wolves team that controlled possession and the passing game, the score sheet showed that a trio of Kickers goals within the 10 minutes of the first half was the ultimate difference. In the span of three minutes, Ethan Bryant served up a pair of nearly identical corner kicks that were headed in by Nathan Aune and then Jalen Crisler for a pair of center-back goals. The final goal in the Kickers' first-half onslaught came from Argentine midfielder Leonardo Baima who scored his first Richmond goal from well beyond the edge of the penalty area.
