CARY, N.C. – South Georgia Tormenta FC (3-1-2, 1st) vaulted to the top of the table following a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over North Carolina FC (2-3-1, 8th) in Cary on Saturday evening. The high-scoring affair opened up with Garrett McLaughlin positioning himself atop the Golden Boot standings with a clean finish into the bottom of the net following a good service from Oalex Anderson in the 10th minute. Tormenta FC changed the momentum in a hurry, as the visitors scored twice in the span of 10 minutes thanks to Kazaiah Sterling's first league goal in the 31st minute and Barry Sharifi's second professional goal in the 41st. In the second half, Oalex Anderson nearly confirmed the victory for the home side with a goal in the 59th minute but a missed penalty less than ten minutes later. The deciding goal came from Arthur Bosua in the 83rd minute as the South African attacker jumped on a poor pass and tapped the ball into an empty net.
