There's a new club at the top of the rankings

Following the conclusion of Week 6, South Georgia Tormenta FC top the Power Rankings for the first time this season following its strong run of form.

Two of the top clubs from the season's first month faced off in Statesboro, playing to a scoreless draw on Saturday evening. South Georgia Tormenta FC and the Charlotte Independence only managed a trio of shots on target between the pair in a defensive contest. The only real chance of the evening came from an Adrian Billhardt strike for Tormenta FC that was remarkably denied at the line by Charlotte's Omar Ciss.

Forward Madison FC sees the biggest jump thanks to its victory in Richmond, while Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC drop three places due to its loss in Chattanooga. Elsewhere, the Red Wolves near the top once again, and North Carolina FC and Greenville Triumph SC begin to make their way up the rankings.

Tormenta FC’s suffocating defense has led the side to the second position in the league table and six straight unbeaten matches in all competitions. In those six matches, South Georgia has not allowed a single goal.
2 Chattanooga Red Wolves SC
(3-2-1)
Week 6: W v. NCO
2

The Red Wolves are coming off a 4-1 trouncing of Northern Colorado in former player Éamon Zayed’s return to Chattanooga. Distributed amongst several goalscorers, Chattanooga has accumulated the most goals in the league thus far.
3 Richmond Kickers
(2-2-1)
Week 6: L v. MAD

Despite a continuous offensive barrage, the Kickers could not break down the Forward Madison FC defense and goalkeeping combo on Saturday. Since scoring four in its opening match, the Kickers have only averaged 0.75 goals per match.
4 Charlotte Independence
(2-1-2)
Week 6: T @ TRM
1
Last Week: 5
Highest Ranking: 4
Running up against Tormenta FC’s formidable defense, the Independence will hope to bounce back soon as their next two fixtures will pit them against a pair of the league’s leakiest defenses in FC Tucson and Northern Colorado.
5 Union Omaha
(1-1-2)
Week 6: ---
2
Last Week: 3
Highest Ranking: 2
Following its off-week, Omaha will hope to advance past the Hailstorm in a midweek U.S. Open Cup matchup and make a statement against the Richmond Kickers in league play next Saturday.
6 North Carolina FC
(2-2-1)
Week 6: W @ TUC
2
Last Week: 8
Highest Ranking: 4
If not for NCFC’s tendency to let in some low percentage goals, the second-year League One side may be higher on this list. A thrilling, last-minute victory on the road in Tucson is a step in the right direction.
7 Central Valley Fuego FC
(2-1-2)
Week 6: T v. GVL
1
Last Week: 6
Highest Ranking: 2
It’s been a real up-and-down start to Fuego FC’s inaugural season so far. The third highest scoring team in the league is coming off a three-match stretch in which they’ve scored just twice.
8 Forward Madison FC
(1-1-3)
Week 6: W @ RIC

Following a slow and steady start featuring three consecutive draws, the ‘Mingos earned their first win of the season on Saturday downing the then table-topping Richmond Kickers.
9 Greenville Triumph SC
(1-2-2)
Week 6: T @ CV
1
Last Week: 10
Highest Ranking: 8
Despite firing off the most shots so far this season, Triumph SC have the fewest number of goals to show for it. Thanks to last week’s draw, Greenville is now tied for the league’s second-longest active unbeaten streak.
10 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC
(1-2-1)
Week 6: L @ CHA
3
Last Week: 7
Highest Ranking: 6
There weren’t many positives to take away from the Hailstorm’s 4-1 defeat in Chattanooga over the weekend other than Stefan Lukic bagging his first professional goal.
11 FC Tucson
(1-3-1)
Week 6: L v. NC
2
Last Week: 9
Highest Ranking: 7
After downing the Red Wolves on April 23, FC Tucson has dropped back-to-back contests with the most recent loss to North Carolina FC coming in excruciating fashion.
