TAMPA, Fla. - It'll be a battle of the coastal birds that will kick off League One's historic first-time involvement in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup's Round of 32 as South Georgia Tormenta FC will travel to face Major League Soccer's Inter Miami CF on Tuesday evening.

Inter Miami CF VS. South Georgia Tormenta FC

Venue: DRV PNK Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Kickoff: Tuesday, May 10; 8 p.m. ET
Weather: Clear, 76°
Broadcast: ESPN+

South Georgia Tormenta FC will face off against Inter Miami CF at DRV PNK Stadium on Tuesday evening as both sides will look to advance to the U.S. Open Cup's Round of 16 for the first time in their respective histories. Unbeaten all-time against opposition from higher divisions, Tormenta FC will face an MLS side in competitive play for the first time in club history.

Tormenta FC arrive in the Round of 32 thanks to stellar defensive play this season – allowing just one goal across all competitions this season – that saw the Ibises down a pair of USL Championship sides in the Charleston Battery and Birmingham Legion FC. Inter Miami CF, on the other hand, is coming off a Miami Clásico victory over USL Championship-rival Miami FC in the Third Round.

One of the league's early-season surprises, Ian Cameron has led South Georgia to second in the table after the first month of action. Since its Week 1 loss to North Carolina FC, Tormenta FC have gone unbeaten in six across all competitions and conceded zero scores. Inter Miami CF have largely struggled early in its third MLS campaign. Winless in its last two matches, Miami is tied for the most goals conceded and third fewest goals scored in league play.

Inter Miami CF - Gregore: Inter Miami CF's 2021 Most Valuable Player has seen continued success in his second season with the Herons. The Brazilian midfielder and club captain leads the side in accurate passes per 90 minutes.

South Georgia Tormenta FC - Deshawon Nembhard: The two-time Team of the Week honoree will return to the Miami area after playing collegiately at Florida International University and with USL League Two side FC Miami City. Nembhard is coming off a match in which he completed 100% of his tackles, ground duels and aerial duels to confirm the Tormenta FC clean sheet.
