Visiting South Georgia downed Tucson 2-0

TUCSON, Ariz. – South Georgia Tormenta FC (2-1-1, 2nd) left Arizona with three points in hand following a 2-0 victory over FC Tucson (1-2-1, 10th) on Saturday evening. The victory sees Tormenta FC vault into second place in the league standings and extend its all-time advantage over FC Tucson to 4-2-1.

The difference in the statistically even match was a pair of big chances converted by the visitors. Tormenta FC opened the scoring with Adrian Billhardt letting loose a shot from beyond the penalty area to stun Carlos Merancio in the Tucson goal. A Louis Perez ejection just one minute later would see the undermanned hosts concede once more, as Barry Sharifi headed in his first professional goal to seal the Tormenta FC victory in the 84th minute.
