FC Tucson's Louis Perez takes home Player of the Week honors after one goal, one assist performance

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 4 of the 2022 regular season with FC Tucson midfielder Louis Perez named Player of the Week. Perez contributed to FC Tucson’s comeback victory over league-leading Chattanooga Red Wolves SC with a goal and an assist on the road.

Responding to the Red Wolves’ early score, Perez sent in a corner kick that was headed down by Luca Mastrantonio to even the scoreline in the 55th minute. Although Chattanooga responded with another go-ahead goal in the 62nd minute, Perez and FC Tucson would respond less than ten minutes later as the Frenchman weaved his way through the Chattanooga defense and unleashed a tough shot from the corner of the penalty area to equalize once more. The dagger came from Tucson as Daniel Bedoya slotted home a penalty kick in stoppage time to confirm the victory for then last-place Tucson over first-place Chattanooga.

Alongside the FC Tucson trio of Jacob Crull, Luca Mastrantonio and Louis Perez named to Team of the Week, Union Omaha saw four players named to the weekly list thanks to its 3-0 victory over Central Valley Fuego FC. The Red Wolves placed a pair on the list, and Greenville Triumph SC and South Georgia Tormenta FC each have one player on this week’s edition.
